Meet Carlos (black dog) – Your Calm, Loyal Companion 🐾

Available through Diego’s Rescue, being fostered by DC Rescue.

Carlos is a gentle, easygoing boy looking for a loving home where he can truly settle in and shine. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand constant attention but is always quietly nearby, happy just being part of the family.

At night, Carlos is beautifully behaved—he sleeps well and is comfortable in a crate if needed (though he may need a little encouragement to go in). He travels well in the car and enjoys coming along for the ride, just occasionally needing a reminder that the middle console isn’t his standing spot!

On walks, Carlos is a pleasure on the lead. He stays close, though he can sometimes get a little underfoot—just his way of wanting to stay near his people. Barking dogs along fence lines don’t faze him, showing his calm and steady nature.

Carlos can be a little timid at times, but it never holds him back. With a bit of reassurance, he quickly finds his confidence and continues on. He’s a quiet dog overall, making him an easy and peaceful companion to have around the home.

Carlos is currently being fostered with children aged 6 and 10, and he’s been wonderful with them. He’s gentle, patient, and enjoys their company. Based on this, we think he would be best suited to a home with children of a similar age or older.

Carlos would thrive in a home that offers him kindness, reassurance, and a steady routine. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving companion who asks for very little but gives a lot in return.

If you’re looking for a calm, sweet-natured dog to welcome into your family, Carlos might just be the perfect match. 🐶

The team at CBBR have had a tough time lately. They have to find a new premise, have had their van vandalised & their car stolen (now found but damaged).

They do awesome things & are always taking on pups & dogs from other rescues & even North Island pounds.

We know times are tough at the moment but if you’re able to make a donation, no matter the size, it will be very much appreciated ❤️🐾🐶

Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue has been running for more than 15 years taking dogs from all over NZ. When we took on the lease of our shelter 11 years ago, it was an empty concrete yard with a garage & an office. People would donate 1 or 2 fence panels, kennels, sleepouts & we built a pretty amazing shelter; where the runs don’t feel like cages & dogs can decompress, lap up some love & learn to be dogs again.

Unfortunately, the property we lease has now been sold & we are currently on the hunt for a new premises. We are looking at decent moving costs (big items) plus fit out costs for a new premises.

And because punches come in bunches, we have also recently had our van damaged by vandalism, had our replacement runabout car stolen and lost thousands of dollars worth of food to rats & mice!

We have always called CBBR the shelter that a community built because it’s all our followers & supporters that have allowed us to continue to help dogs in need. What keeps us running is all the $2, $5 automatic payments people have set up, the local businesses with donation boxes & running fundraisers, people donating food for our foodbank, kids doing bake sales, volunteers doing markets. The CBBR community is amazing!

We need your help again to pack everything up, move it somewhere new and re-build CBBR even better than it is now. Please comment, like, tag & share like never before 💖
