Lovely pics from the community opening event last week - it was great to see so many local tamariki enjoying the new playground!

A quick update on the new Taupiri playground - one of the chains on the new swing was found to have poor finishing which could cause scratches to hands. The council has been very cautious in taping off the swing until the chain is replaced - it should be sorted by Monday morning.

It was great to see so many tamariki and whanau enjoying the playground and sausage sizzle on the opening day - it’s great to have this new facility for our community.

New speed limit signs will begin to be installed next week 🚸

The new speed limits include roads around schools, marae, and community facilities. Other roads were selected based on safety concerns from previous crashes, public requests, and speed limit reviews.

Sign installation will not impact travel, and work is expected to be completed by early September.

Please look out for the new signs, follow the speed limits, and take extra care around schools and busy community areas.
