Time Running Out for Waikato Communities to Shape Local Government Reform . We've posed 7 Questions to WDC Mayor Aksel Bech and you can ask questions as well. This 're-shaping' of council borders (amalgamations) may well see the Hamilton CC join the Waikato District. What will this mean for the Tamahere/Matangi and Tauwhare Communities ?

Just a side note to the timber truck roll-over at the Tamahere exchange this afternoon. The Tamahere Exchange was never designed to take such traffic loads. AND the NZTA is not really interested in the Exchange as far as the new Southern Links is concerned. The Tamahere Community Committee is mounting a very serious case to the NZTA to meet the needs of not just the community but also how to deal with increased volume caused by the 'tolling' on the Southern Links. Also note the proposed WTR ( Waikato Thoroughbred Racing) project on Pencarrow Rd is NOT part of the NZTA's planning...yet. Does everyone know about that? Its projected between 350-400 tonnes of equine waste will be trucked through this exchange weekly, not to mention feed required for up to 2000 horses which may be located at the proposed hub. (see more detail on this below), The Tamahere Community Committee has another open day planned for June 14th Sunday afternoon at the Tamahere Community Centre. The exchange and the proposed equine hub will be under the spotilight. Check out https://tamahereforum.org
