Please join us in celebrating our missionary (G.R) achieving 30 years of service with OMS! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Due to the delicate nature of her work and locations of service, we aren’t sharing her name. However, we can tell you that she has overseen the professional development of English teachers in a number of locations across Europe and Asia. She currently continues to train students in ESOL and teaches cross cultural skills.

We give thanks to God for G.R and the work that He has enabled her to do. We know there will be countless people who have benefited from her teaching, who have gone on to do amazing things for the Kingdom of God. Praise the Lord! πŸ’•

A big thank you to Jeff and Laura Edwards, our OMS president, for coming to visit us last weekend! We are so grateful for their time to meet with our board members, staff and missionaries home on furlough.

It was also fun to show them more of the New Zealand culture, singing worship songs in Māori, and hearing a sermon on the early days of Christianity in Aotearoa πŸ’• A trip to our famous black sand beach, Raglan, was also a highlight!

We pray for safe travels as Jeff and Laura continue their pastoral care trips.

Imogen, who works here in the OMS NZ office, recently had the opportunity to join in OMS Australia's pre-field training course! While nothing is set in stone yet, she is pondering what being a long term missionary might look like for her in the Asia/Pacific region.

We are certain there's exciting days ahead! Take a look at this post from OMS Australia to see what they got up to!

We are excited about these six OMS Australia & New Zealand missionaries completing Pre-Field Training last month!

The name doesn't give away everything we learn about & discuss: cultural values, culture types, spiritual reality, emergency policies & procedures, OMS history, culture shock vs. stress, personal & professional growth, and much more.

Pray for (L to R) Barthez & Vivian as they head to Japan, Imogen preparing for further service in the Asia-Pacific region, Spenser & Karen continuing itinerate ministry in Sri Lanka, and Tiana continuing service in Japan.

It was particularly wonderful to have Imogen join us from One Mission Society New Zealand as it furthers our collaboration with our Kiwi counterparts. 🀝🏻

Special thank you to Light Community Baptist Church for allowing us to use the space to conduct training. πŸ₯³

Thank you for praying for our interim director Karen, alongside her husband Bryce, who have been spending time in the Philippines πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ alongside our missionaries.

They've been able to be part of praying for the kids at the JCM school, attending the Juan conference, meeting with those involved in other OMS Philippines ministries, and sharing at the JCM church. Please continue to pray for their final few days there, before they return back to NZ on Friday.

Karen will share about her time in our upcoming newsletter coming out in March. If you're not receiving our quarterly newsletter and would like to, email Imogen at [email protected] and she'll add you to our mailing list 😊

Please join us in praying for Karen and her husband Bryce who is currently in the Philippines visiting our missionaries, and other OMS ministry leaders. Karen is a legend that works in our NZ office as our financial/admin hero, but is also currently interim director for OMS NZ.

She and Bryce will spend this time in the Philippines focusing on pastoral care and member care with our missionaries, and learning about how we can collaborate better with the other OMS ministries in the Philippines.

Key leaders they are meeting with are Larry and Sharon Freed, church multiplication facilitators with OMS Philippines. We are excited to be growing this partnership and preparing the way for more Kiwis to be involved in this amazing work to reach people in all corners of this beautiful country. πŸ’•

We thank God for all He has done! He has come through in so many ways this year for us, our missionaries, and supporters.

Please continue to pray for us as we venture into a new year. One full of opportunity, goodness, and more growth! πŸ“ˆ

Have a great break everyone!

We are so grateful to those who visit and support our missionaries, so today we say a big thank you to Ric and Cindy! They serve with OMS in a member care role, visiting and praying for OMS missionaries around the Asia/Pacific region.

Last week they visited our missionaries, Phil and Ruth Robinson, and their team in the Philippines. They took the time to also visit during school hours so they could pray over students, staff, and every classroom.

The school posted on their page:
"We believe in the power of prayerβ€”it changes hearts, brings hope, and strengthens faith.
Today, we also lift up those who are sick and their families. May you find encouragement and peace. πŸ’›
πŸ“– β€œCall to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” β€” Jeremiah 33:3".

Praise God for this opportunity for prayer and connection!
