🚨Suspicious Activity Pencarrow Road, Tamahere.🚨

Informant reports that at about 8:11am on the 24/12/24 a silver Hyundai car rego FMC872 was parked on the grass on pencarrow road near the Day Road intersection. (Facing towards Airport Road).

Female passenger asleep wearing a hoodie with the hood over her head. They did not wake up when approached by informant.

Ripped up mail was found by outside drivers door on the grass (mail was addressed to a Paterangi Rd, Ohaupo address).

Informant phoned 111 at the time.

If you have had mail stolen this morning please report to police. Thank you to our informant for phoning 111 at the time and getting good photos of the vehicle to share with our community. This info might be a small piece to a large puzzle so it’s important to report suspicious activity.

If You’re a Victim of Mail Theft:

📌 Report it to the police – even if the stolen item has little value. Your report could be a crucial piece of a larger investigation. (Police don’t know what they don’t know!).

📌 Once reported, you’ll receive a police file number. Share this with the community if needed so others can provide relevant information directly to the police.

we’re here to help and we understand the importance of correct reporting.

What to Watch For:

If you see suspicious activity call 111 at the time it is happening.

👀 Suspect description – Look for scars, marks, tattoos, or other distinguishing features.

📸 Take photos or videos – If safe to do so. A picture paints a thousand words!

🚗 Vehicle details – Note false or mismatched plates, distinctive marks, stickers, or non-working brake lights, description of make and model.

💡 These offenders often change plates, so a detailed description can be vital!

Please contact your local Community Patrol and let them know so they can alert the community and other neighboring areas. Community Patrols NZ has a good working relationship with NZ Police and we are aware of the work that is being done to hold the offenders to account for this behaviour.

Active Mailbox Thiefs!!!! 📫

27/06/24 at 12.02pm - Cherry Lane, Hamilton

Occupants from 1997 Grey Subaru Forester Station Wagon registration MEZ314 was seen stealing mail from mailboxes on Cherry lane, Tamahere.

Informant was leaving the area but turned around to follow them up Cherry lane.

There were two women in the front seat and a man sitting in the back seat.

Please remember if it’s happening now call 111. Be sure to track your parcels and look out for your neighbours. Informafion sharing is key!

🚨 Suspicious Behaviour 🚨

Hillcrest Road, Hamilton

Occurred: Sunday the 20/08/2023 at 03:36am

Police reference number: OR-1279933N

Informant reports suspicious person with a torch light walking down their driveway on Hillcrest Road in Hamilton this morning at 3:36am.

Unknown which way the person exited the property as the informants other CCTV cameras didn’t show the person around the vehicles/house area. Possibly exited through other properties.

🚨 Suspicious Activity 🚨

Birchwood Lane, Tamahere

19/08/2023 at about 4:16am

Police reference number: OR-1279090N

Informant reports at about 4:16am on the 19/08/23 a car drive down their driveway situated on Birchwood Lane, Tamahere.

CCTV shows the vehicle remained parked at the address for two minutes, then backed out again and left. The driver did not exit the vehicle.

Nil REGO obtained.

Driver of the vehicle looks to be wearing a red hoody and has a white dog in the front passenger seat. No other occupants of the vehicle were seen on the CCTV footage.

Description of vehicle
Vehicle looks to be very similar to a white 1999 Mazda Capella (CCTV Image attached to post).

(shape of the tail lights, the black aerial above the tail light and the sharp shape of the rear side window in the bottom corner suggests a Mazda Capella).

Will treat this as suspicious until proven otherwise.

🚨SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOUR - WEBSTER ROAD, MATANGI🚨

Informant states that at about 4:20pm on the 23/06/23 a suspicious van with no Rego plates towing a trailer pulled into their driveway on Webster Road, Matangi.

The informant spoke to the male driver who stated that he needed to change a flat tyre. The informant told him to move the vehicle off his property and onto the road. The driver asked if he could drive up further and turn around in his driveway, but the informant told him to reverse instead.

Description of van
*Late 90s Mitsubishi grey van with no rego
*Mags with black spokes and polished rim about 16” with stretched low profile tyres
*Lowered
*Towing what appeared to be a new looking tandem trailer described as being like the “titan” twin axle (Chinese import) (unknown if there was a Rego plate on the trailer).

Description of driver
*Caucasian male
*In his 30s
*dark hair
*Medium to fat build
*Possibly wearing a black hoodie
*Appeared to be on drugs as his pupils were dilated

The driver then drove off without changing any tyre.

Unknown direction of travel on Webster Road.
