🙂We need kind, reliable volunteers to help on reception at Tui House, in Warkworth, one lunchtime a fortnight, 12–2pm (occasionally a little longer if needed).
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys welcoming people and being part of a caring community. Duties include:
• Answering calls and greeting visitors
• Supporting roster updates
• Light reception tasks to keep things running smoothly

No experience is required - just a friendly manner and a willingness to help.
If you’d like to make a meaningful difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you!

🩵🌺Art lovers, the 2026 Art Exhibition & Sale exhibition is on this King’s Birthday Weekend - from today! - at the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa. Featuring great art from local & national artists with pieces to suit all budgets, including art for your garden.

⭐Featuring 2 special artworks - a unique collab between local photographer Grant Birley and artist/designer Kylie Hughes, 71 Years of Orewa, for purchase, and Kowhai, which was auctioned off last year and has been kindly donated back to auction again this year (silent auction)

"There were lots of moments where I thought 'thank God Hospice is here', but the one that stands out is when my husband became unwell while we were up north on holiday and I had to ring Hospice’s 24-hour phone service. He was in a lot of pain and it was distressing to see him like that and not know what to do. The nurse who answered, I knew, because she’d visited us at home, and she was very direct and decisive in the kindest and most respectful of ways. It was wonderful, because in that moment I really needed someone to take control." - Nicolette

RIGHT TIME: Margaret is grateful that she was able to care for her husband at home, and the couple shared many treasured moments. "But people don’t realise how exhausting it is to look after a loved one, and I didn’t really like leaving him with anyone except his sister." She says it got to a point where she wasn't sure if she could cope for much longer.

Hospice came on board at just the right time, she says. “Hospice made us feel safe and they made our lives easier."

This year the annual fundraiser in support of Harbour Hospice marks a very special milestone, its 20th anniversary! 🎉🥰🎉To celebrate, this gorgeous piece of art by Emma Bass is being auctioned off on Opening Night, generously framed byOrewa Framing Studio Ltd & kindly donated by organisers Suzanne Lasenby and the Volunteer Fundraising Committee.
