Baseball is coming to Auckland this winter — and it’s FREE!⚾️🇳🇿

Baseball New Zealand is hosting PLAY BALL Weekend Aotearoa on Sunday 7 June, 10am–1pm — our first-ever local event as part of MLB’s global PLAY BALL Weekend, happening across six continents every June.

We’re bringing a fun-filled morning of baseball activities to a central Auckland indoor venue for tamariki aged 5–12:
- Pitch, Hit & Run competitions
- Wiffle ball games
- Meet your local baseball club
- Free entry — all equipment provided
No experience needed. Just show up and play!

Official Notice of the Auckland Baseball Association 2026 AGM.

The AGM will be held in person at PHS Innovate, 60 Wharf Road, Te Atatu Peninsula on Sunday 14th June, at 10am.

ALL Executive Positions (President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer) are up for election as per the Constitutional two-year term and interim roles. Nominations for roles must be received no later than 5pm on Sunday 7th June 2026.

If you wish to submit a notice of motion for inclusion as special business, this must be submitted in writing to the Secretary no later than 5pm on Sunday 31st May 2026.

Tomorrow, our 12U Majors Little League Team are Gold Coast bound as they head into two intense days of ANZAC Scrimmages! The team are sharpening their skills and building momentum ahead of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East World Series Qualifiers in Korea in June. We are proud of you all and wish you a great weekend!! ⚾️⚾️

Diamond Lab Off Season Development is open for registrations!
Coaches Dan Tan and Toshiki Nakao are excited to be delivering the programme to two age levels this winter.

All training will be held at the GL Weir Centre indoor venue at Mount Albert Grammar School.

Ages 10-12
8 Weeks
Limit of 24 participants
📅 Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00p.m. – 7:30p.m. – option for one day per week

Ages 13-16

Our Winter Ball programme suits both beginners and experienced players. The T-Ball / Under 10s sessions give girls and boys a chance to experience baseball, learn new skills, have fun, and get active! Meanwhile, our Winter Ball sessions for older age groups focus on skill development and training for speed and fitness. All sessions are led by our team of experienced coaches. Both new and existing players are welcome, including members of other clubs!

❄️Winter 2026 Dates and Location❄️

Two free-to-try Sunday sessions on 21-June and 28-June (open to everyone) followed by up to 10 sessions on Sundays from 5-July to 6-September (for registered participants). All at Unsworth Reserve, subject to weather.

❄️Winter 2026 Sunday Session Times❄️

0900 – 1000: T-Ball and Under 10s
1000 – 1200 Group 1: Under 12s and Under 13s
1000 – 1200 Group 2: Under 14s and Under 16s
1200 – 1400: Under 19s and Premier Grades
1400 – 1430: Free time
1430 – 1630: Adult Social Baseball

❄️Activities❄️

T-Ballers and 10U will focus on experiencing baseball, learning new skills, having fun, and being active. Older grades will have warm-ups including throwing (long toss) + skills development covering batting, pitching, base running, in-field and out-field + speed and fitness training.

T-Ball to 10U: $100 for ten 60-minute sessions
12U to 16U: $175 for ten 120-minute sessions
19U+: $175 for ten 120-minute sessions

What a night! We had an awesome time celebrating our players, coaches, and volunteers at the ABA Prizegiving. With 200 people in the room, it was our biggest and easily our best prizegiving yet!

Huge thanks to everyone who came out to wrap up the season in style. Enjoy a well‑earned off‑season, and we can’t wait to welcome you back later this year for another great season of baseball. ⚾️⚾️
