Botany Crime Watch Patrol

Botany Crime Watch Patrol Botany Crime Watch Patrol helps build safer communities through effective patrolling by our volunteers. To help us cover this area we need more volunteers.

We patrol a very large part of our local community, including residential areas, town centres, parks, schools and carparks. The more volunteers we have, the more patrols we can operate. If you have any spare time on a regular basis, please apply to become a member of our team. We currently have 40 plus members and need more. Our patrol has members from the age of 19 to 70 plus and a wide range of

different ethnic backgrounds. We operate patrols on morning, afternoon and evening shifts. We have two sign written patrol vehicles so please join our team so we can have those vehicles on patrol more frequentl

We are a voluntary not for profit organisation who work together in your community to make your neighbourhoods safer places to live and work. We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from all our sponsors and we could not operate without them. We are an affiliated member of Community Patrols of New Zealand (CPNZ) who have an MOU with the NZ Police. Botany Crime Watch Patrol was established in 2003, with our first patrol taking place on 4 April 2004. Since 2005 we have been very fortunate to have been able to operate from an office in Botany Town Centre thanks to the ongoing support from Botany Town Centre management. Our patrol is a founding member of the Manukau District Crime Watch Patrol Charitable Trust who receive funding from Auckland Council via a service agreement.

All our volunteers are vetted by the Police and once vetted are fully trained. Our patrol is made up of local residents who wish to make their community safer. Our volunteers are provided with uniforms and all the equipment required to carry out a successful patrol. We observe and report suspicious activity to the Police and other issues to the relevant organisations.

Our volunteers always patrol in pairs, helping share experience keeping everyone safe regardless of the time of day. Our work is non-confrontational and we pride ourselves on keeping our volunteers safe while helping protect our community.
