What a Wonderful Month!

There have been so many opportunities and special moments this month—things that can only happen because of the dedication of our wonderful staff and the generosity of our community supporters.

As always, we feel blessed to live in a region where we can enjoy and access the great outdoors. We particularly love our visits to the Grace Church Playground, where there is always plenty of fun to be had.

Providing community meals for people in need continues to be a highlight of who we are and what we do. We are committed to being outward-focused rather than inward-focused, reaching out and making a difference wherever we can.

A huge thank you to Bunnings, who generously continue to provide us with wonderful craft opportunities each month. Thank you, Claudia, for all your support!

Our cleaners, Ginny and Pat, continue to delight us with their wonderful staging and creativity. When we walk through the door on a Monday morning, we simply cannot help but smile at the fun and unexpected things they have waiting for us. This month, one of our bears and a monkey were having a very serious discussion about some fabulous artwork they had discovered!

We have also adopted a very special local baby, which has brought us so much joy. What a privilege it is to be part of this little one's life.

And, as if that wasn't enough, some wonderful friends generously donated a large-screen TV to us. This will be a fantastic addition to Pinnacle House and will enhance our programmes and activities.

Pinnacle House would like to extend a very grateful thanks to Nelson Building Society (NBS) for their generous community grant, which is helping us with transportation and programme costs for our vocational service.

Their support enables us to continue providing a valuable service to people across the Nelson/Tasman District who have very high and complex needs. Community support like this makes a real difference to the people we work alongside.

Nelson Building Society is a wonderful supporter of our local community, and we are very proud to be associated with a bank that genuinely cares about the people and organizations in our region.

The Very First Day of Spring!
Wow — the very first day of spring! What a wonderful month August has been. There has been so much fun, laughter, and so many wonderful activities, all made possible because we have fantastic staff and friends in our community who support us every single day. We are incredibly grateful.
Today, we were delighted to host the Trust that we work with through the Methodist Synod. Everyone enjoyed a lovely spring high tea, along with some fun and games. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of spring together.
We also had the pleasure of visiting our special friend, Murray Leaning, at the Tahunanui Community Hub. The wonderful team of staff and volunteers who work there are such a blessing to so many people in our community.
And what a delight it is to sit under the gazebo — on a nice day, of course! — where Naylor Love and their team poured the concrete throughout the mid-winter break. Their hard work has created such a lovely space for everyone to enjoy.
Have you checked out the new Grace Church playground at the back of the Headingly Centre? We are very fortunate to be able to enjoy this wonderful area on a regular basis. A huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to bring this space to life.
We have some great chefs at Pinnacle too! If you’re ever walking past and happen to smell something delicious cooking, pop your head in. You never know — there might even be some spare… at a price!!!
And, of course, dogs really can be the best friends ever! Thanks, Gerda.
Then there was the balloon, funnel and cornflour activity… What happens when things don’t quite go according to the instructions? Well, let’s just say it provided plenty of fun and laughter!

What an exciting month it has been since our last update!
We were delighted to host Tasman District Council and Fulton Hogan for morning tea. It was a bittersweet occasion as they are no longer our neighbours after completing construction of the new bridge next door. We were honored to attend the official opening last Tuesday morning, which was a wonderful celebration. Over the past year, we have greatly appreciated the friendships we've built with the teams from TDC and Fulton Hogan, and we will miss seeing them every day. Another incredible blessing this month was Naylor Love, who generously volunteered to concrete our upper garden. This improvement will make it much easier to take our wheelchair participants up to enjoy lunches and outdoor activities during the warmer months. We are so grateful to Naylor Love for choosing Pinnacle as their volunteer project—thank you for your kindness and generosity. We were also pleased to host morning teas and lunches for the Naylor Love team this week. One of the photos captures everyone enjoying a well-deserved lunch break together. The remaining photos highlight the fun, laughter, and joy that fill our days at Pinnacle. A special mention goes to our visit from the "Wiggles"—thank you, Mr T, for bringing so many smiles!
Our staff have enjoyed a well-earned mid-winter break and are looking forward to returning on Monday, refreshed and ready to continue providing a programme that enriches and blesses the lives of our participants. Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support, encouragement, and generosity. We look forward to catching up with you again in September.

Hello everyone. Please enjoy the following photos, which capture some of the wonderful moments we've shared recently. We are blessed with many dear friends, and none more so than Peter and Colleen. Thank you both for being incredible friends and supporters of Pinnacle House—and indeed of our whole community. Your faithful prayers, encouragement, and generosity mean so much to us. Dave, thank you for your faithful support at swimming. We are so grateful for your ongoing commitment to Pinnacle House. Your willingness to serve is a real blessing, even when it's cold!! As you'll see in the photos, there continue to be many opportunities and activities taking place on a regular basis. We are deeply grateful to everyone who generously gives their time and talents, helping to ensure our Participants enjoy rich, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

What an Incredibly Busy Month May Has Been!
As you can see from the photos, we have had great fun with our Participants this month and have loved seeing the joy on their faces. We would like to share a few of the special activities that made May so memorable. A special thank you goes to Tyra, who regularly visits Pinnacle House to provide haircuts for some of our Participants. Her kindness is an incredible blessing and helps make what can sometimes be a stressful experience much more comfortable and enjoyable. Our Friday team has been busy collecting pine-cones to help raise funds for our community meals programme. These meals are a blessing to many people in our community, particularly elderly residents and those who are unwell. If you ever have excess meat or produce that you would like to donate, we would love to hear from you. We always welcome opportunities to share Pinnacle House with our friends and supporters, and we were delighted to have Grace visit us for the day. Twice each week, our Participants volunteer by packing food at the Salvation Army in Nelson. The work these incredible people do to support vulnerable members of our community is immense, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute in a small way.
Each year, we also have the privilege of supporting the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal. We love being able to give back and show our appreciation for the care, love, and support they provide to so many people.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Pinnacle House. We wish you a wonderful June and look forward to sharing more updates with you in July.

During school holiday time when a number of our programmes take a break; we love the opportunity of trying the many different activities that are available to us. As you can see by the following photos the pleasure and enjoyment is evident on the faces of our Participants. We are incredibly grateful and blessed living in this region. We have welcomed a new staff member and a new participant who brings energy and fun to us all. Take care until June, and God bless as we move into cooler days. PS: We would love for you to save your plastic milk bottle tops for a project. All colours welcome.
