A great result - Brightwater Scout group is being revitalised with assistance from Lodge Nelson and The Forest Lodge, backed up by Freemasons Charity. A grant has enabled them to buy specialist permanent equipment for use in the 'Den" and out camping. They has refurbished the old building themselves, and have a dynamic leadersip backed by support from local businesses and organisation. Two photos - spot the Nelson and Forest Freemasons?

Freemasons in Nelson-Tasman have been supporting this band over the last year.
So pleased to see how amazing well they did! TENTH IN THE WORLD!
Fantastic experience for them too in Scotland!

🏆🌎 10TH IN THE WORLD!

What a way to finish an incredible journey!

Celtic Pipe Band Grade 2 .....10th overall in the world!

To stand on that field in Glasgow, surrounded by some of the very best bands in the world, is something we’ll never forget. The hours of practice, the hard graft, the early mornings, the late nights and everything in between, it all led us here.

We couldn’t be prouder of every single member of our band.

A huge congratulations to every band who competed. The standard was incredible, and it was a privilege to share the arena with so many talented musicians from around the world.

And to everyone who has followed our journey — from back home in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and from all around the world, thank you! ❤️

Thank you for every message, comment, share, cheer and bit of encouragement. You’ve been part of this journey with us, and we’ve loved taking you along for the ride.

What started as a trip to Scotland became an experience we’ll carry with us forever.

10th in the world.
A fantastic result.
An unforgettable trip.
And memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

The Celtic Way.

Another Entered Apprentice for The Forest Lodge - Welcome!

31/08/2026

The Nelson-Tasman Masonic Centre made a donation to the Southern Cancer Society, on behalf of ALL Freemasons in our area. This money has been used to sponsor a room in the Christchurch Centre.
This room is on the ground floor and has an outdoor sitting area (accessible by the glass door behind the curtains), which guests just love. It also has a mini fridge and tea station, and a fully tiled bathroom. Photos below.

When someone comes to join Freemasonry, the Lodge will ask a number of questions - including "Occupation?". Some will answer with a single word, some with a phrase or even a sentence. This time - how about a picture - that's a THOUSAND words!
[Actually that was his last job, now in rather more routine employment]. Over Motueka, Top of the South.

A First Degree ceremony last night, and a new Entered Apprentice for The Forest Lodge.

A very positive article towards Freemasonry in a British tabloid newspaper.
**UK Masons contributed fifty-one MILLION pounds towards charity in various forms in Year 2020.**
Interesting that UGLE say that exposure on social media has been benficial in recruiting younger members, spreading the word and dispelling myth.

Metro was invited into the United Grand Lodge of England by the Freemasons, who have been at the centre of wild conspiracies for centuries.

In the Nelson-Tasman Masonic Centre yesterday evening, Southern Star EC worked an excellent DOUBLE Second Degree ceremony. So, by the end of the night a total of SEVEN Fellowcraft brethren were present [6 Southern Star + one from Forest].
Well done our English friends!.
