Henley Lake parkrun #40!!

A frosty morning saw 88 hardy people at the start line for Henley Lake parkrun 40! They included 9 first timers and people from Dunedin, Christchurch, Greytown, Wellington and Russell.

The cold sunny weather certainly makes us move faster to keep warm – there were 24 personal bests!!

Thank you to the 10 volunteers that help keep the park run free for all. Sadly, no-one volunteered to be photographer this week – maybe next time.

There were no milestone runs at Henley Lake this week, but congratulations must go to Darren Wood from London who became the 1 st person to achieve 1,000 parkruns !!!– it is
definitely addictive.

Please try and volunteer - without volunteers there would be no parkruns.

Brrr, what a frosty start to the day ❄️

Huge congrats to all 88 hardy parkrunners who shook off the chill and got those kilometres done. Winter mornings aren’t for the faint‑hearted, but you all smashed it!

Parkrun 39

Almost the last parkrun of autumn saw 90 hardy runners, joggers, walkers complete Henley Lake parkrun. The sun came up nicely to show off the autumn colours as Charlotte Burgess wizzed round the course in a PB of 18:15!! Well done – she was followed home with 23 other people achieving PBs. Welcome to 13 first timers – it is addictive so see you again soon. Visitors were from Wanaka, Poirura and Hawkes Bay – hope you enjoyed the beautiful day.

Thank you to the 12 volunteers who help keep the run free for everyone. See you all next week.

Hope you’re looking forward to parkrun on Saturday! The men’s shed will be having their gate sale so give yourself a bit of extra time for parking, alternate parking spots are available on Colombo road or use the other car parks at Henley Lake. Consider taking some time after your run or walk to browse the sale too.

Its nearly here, GATE SALE time, from 8am to noon this Saturday 23rd May, as usual we have heaps of Tools, Power tools, Machinery, Furniture, Garden gadgets, Household items, Toys, and more, even sacks of kindling.
Cash and Insert card Eftpos are good
