Back in May 2025 we had the privilege of hosting Peter Apperley for a few hours during his latest cycling journey through Aotearoa.
Peter has graciously sent us a link to one of his many YouTube videos under the heading of "Slow Cycling Aotearoa" Check out this link, and enjoy a wonderful journey through our history. https://youtu.be/RMDNshNFH6k

Many thanks Peter, and may you continue to enjoy your adventures. We look forward to welcoming you when you next return to the "40 Mile Bush"

Here's one for all those that remember Eketahuna in the 1970's, the Museum has had an enquiry regarding the "Rocketship Eketahuna sign" at the north entrance of town.
Does anyone remember it?
Have photos?
Know anthing about its history?

Cheers.

Museum Open.
After a very 'low-key' 'soft opening' yesterday with very positive feedback, the Eketāhuna/Mellemskov Museum will be open today from 11am-2pm.
Call in and see what we have been doing over our extended Winter Closure.
New cabinets, some new lighting (surprise, suprise, not all finished. Yet)
We are a little behind with our programmed reopening, but check us out and we look forward to a formal Re-opening in the near future.
Keep up-to-date with our page:- Eketahuna/Mellemskov Museum.

Due to the weather system we have experienced, and the lack of power (hopefully connected by tomorrow)
Our planned 'reopening' of the musem, tomorrow, is delayed. Sunday If we are able to finish off signage, cleaning and last minute changes, if not ( need power) we will leave it until Sunday of next week (1st November)
Cheers, and stay safe.
