Join the Wairarapa Singers on Saturday 13 June at 4pm a moving choral concert featuring Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest.

As the charity partner for this event, Hospice Wairarapa will receive $1 from every ticket sold, helping us continue providing specialist palliative care and support across our community.

A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Wairarapa Quilters - for their incredibly generous donation of 10 stunning handmade quilts.
Each quilt is a true work of art, lovingly created with care and compassion. These beautiful pieces will be used to bring comfort to our palliative patients at the hospital - helping to create a warm, homely environment during a very difficult time.
Something as simple as a quilt can make such a profound difference. It provides not only physical warmth, but also a sense of dignity, comfort, and kindness. Knowing that these quilts have been handcrafted by members of our own community, including the nurses at the hospital, makes them even more special.
Your generosity and thoughtfulness will touch many lives, and we are so grateful for your support.

Raranga Harakeke Weaving, monthly at Hospice Wairarapa

For anyone experiencing loss, grief, or change due to a serious illness - whether personally, as a caregiver, or supporting someone on that journey.

Weaving has many benefits, such as, enhancing hauora wellbeing, encouraging mindfulness, concentration and satisfaction from seeing the final product. This can help to reduce stress, anxiety and provide time out when facing significant health challenges.
The harakeke weaving sessions occur on:
Date: 3rd Thursday of the month
Time: 10am – 1pm
NEXT DATE: 18th June
Venue: Hospice Wairarapa, 59 Renall Street, Masterton
Facilitator: Whaea Edith Rolls, Wairarapa harakeke weaver
Drop-in on the day – no need to register.

WOW. What a week for our new Hospice Wairarapa - Masterton Shop!💙🧡

The recent opening exceeded all our expectations, with queues out the door at times, an incredible buzz and great feedback throughout the week.

To everyone who came along to shop, donated goods, spread the word, or told a friend to visit, thank you. Community support like this is what helps keep Hospice Wairarapa services free.

A special thank you to the amazing volunteers who gave their time to help, and Premier Beehive and New World Masterton for their generous donations that made our opening day sausage sizzle possible. 💙🧡

The good news? The excitement isn’t over.

The store continues to be busy, our team is restocking every day, and with so much stock moving, there is always something new to discover.

Our new donations drop-off area, with dedicated parking and separate access, has also been a real hit, making it easier than ever to donate quality pre-loved goods.

👋 A gentle reminder though: please don’t leave donations outside the store after business hours. Exposure to the elements can damage items and make them unsaleable. And when donating, a good rule of thumb is this: if you wouldn’t pass it on to a friend, it may be ready for disposal rather than donation.

📅The Masterton store is now operating its standard opening hours:
Mon - Fri: 9:30 - 4:30
Sat: 9:30 - 4:00
Sun: 10:00 - 3:00
