Flawless Paws, Hamilton (2026)

A heartfelt thank you to the kind person who donated gastrointestinal food to us. We genuinely cannot put into words how much this means to us.

When you're a small rescue caring for cats and kittens with all different kinds of needs, there are constantly unexpected expenses. A kitten develops a sensitive tummy. A cat comes into care needing a specialised diet. Someone needs veterinary food to help them recover. Transitioning from foods to another can cause alot of messy litter trays.

And suddenly, another expense is added to an already veeeeery long list, and these foods aren't cheap as we all know.

That's why donations like this are such an enormous relief!

It means that when one of our cats needs this particular food (which happens alot), we can give it to them without having to worry about whether we can afford it.

Running a rescue can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be incredibly stressful. We want to help every cat who needs us, but the reality is that every dollar has to stretch as far as possible.

To the person who made this donation: thank you! Your kind gesture is going to save money, time, and hopefully some litter!

You may have simply given us a some food, but to us, you gave us relief, support and the ability to keep putting our limited funds towards where they're needed most. Or, we can share it with other organisations who may be having the same issue with food that isn't reaching so far.

This is what community looks like! And we are SO grateful for every single follower, person who donates, likes, comments, interacts, shares stories about us through word of mouth-

Thank you for helping us continue to care for the cats and kittens who have nowhere else to turn. ❤️

If you'd like to help us continue to help them 💗

🐾 WE’RE ALL OUT OF VOUCHERS! 🐾

Wow — what an incredible response! ❤️ We’ve now allocated all of our available free des*xing and microchipping vouchers.

If you contacted us by email or through any other form of contact before 3pm today (06/10/2026), you will still receive a voucher — even if we haven’t had a chance to reply to you yet or book your initial microchipping appointment. Please be patient with us while we work through all the messages.

We would love to make this program a regular thing and will advertise on our page when we have enough funding in the budget to offer more free des*xing and microchipping vouchers in the future.

We’re really sorry to everyone who has missed out this time 💔— keep an eye out on our page for future voucher rounds.

One more important note: If any vouchers remain unredeemed 7 days after they were issued, we’ll advertise how many are available so they can be allocated to other animals and families in need. We want to make sure every single voucher gets used to help where it’s needed most ❤️🐾

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and incredible support of this program!

FOUND

Today we had a very sad outcome for a beautiful girl who was taken into the vet clinic after a concerned member of the public noticed how unwell she was. She had apparently been spending time on the same property for years, where the homeowner had been caring for her and trying to find her owner, unfortunately without success.

With the help of another person, she was able to be taken to the vet on our behalf. Sadly, the vet determined that she was extremely sick and that euthanasia was the kindest option for her. Putting her through treatment and a further 7 day stray hold would have only prolonged her suffering, and that would not have been fair to her.

As upsetting as this is for everyone involved, the welfare of the animal has to come before our own feelings.
She was not microchipped, so we have no way of tracing her family. We are still sharing her story in the hope that someone recognises her and we can give her owners some closure.

If you recognise this beautiful girl or believe she may have belonged to someone you know, please get in touch with us. We are so sorry to her family and hope this post reaches you.

🐾 UPDATE — FREE CAT DESEXING VOUCHERS STILL AVAILABLE! 🐾

We still have FREE des*xing vouchers available for owned cats! 💛

We’re really hoping to get these vouchers into the hands of families who genuinely need them so we can help des*x as many cats as possible and, in turn, help reduce the number of unwanted and stray cats in our community🐾

Unfortunately, we’ve had a couple of people not attend their required microchipping appointments, which means their vouchers have had to be revoked

Because of this, we still have quite a few vouchers available and would love to see them used!

💛 If you or someone you know is struggling financially and could benefit from a free des*xing voucher, please get in touch.

💛 Please also SHARE this post with friends, family, neighbours, community groups or anyone you think may be able to make use of this opportunity. The more people who see it, the more cats we can help!

🐾 A quick reminder about the initiative:
💛 This initiative is for families experiencing financial hardship. If you are able to afford des*xing yourself, we kindly ask that you leave this opportunity for someone who genuinely needs the assistance.

💛 The voucher covers des*xing and microchipping.

💛 Microchipping must be completed before the surgery at an appointment with our organisation. It is not performed during the des*xing procedure at CareVets Chartwell.

💛 Your cat must be an owned cat, weigh more than 1kg and be in good health.

💛 Vouchers can only be used at CareVets Chartwell.

💛 An appointment must be attended with us prior to surgery so your cat can be microchipped and registered with NZCAR, completely free of charge.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: These vouchers are limited, and appointments are valuable. Failure to attend your microchipping appointment or your surgery appointment will result in the voucher being revoked.

⚠️ Once a voucher has been revoked, you will not be eligible to receive another voucher in the future.

⚠️ CareVets Chartwell reserves the right to refuse future bookings where appointments are missed, cancelled, or cancelled with late/no notification.

❌ The voucher does NOT cover:
❌ Pre-anaesthetic blood tests
❌ Flea or worm treatments/products
❌ Nail trims
❌ Vaccinations
❌ Any other additional veterinary services

Any additional costs will be the responsibility of the cat's guardian.

❌ This offer is NOT available for:
❌ Pedigree cats
❌ Community cats or strays
❌ Cats intended to be sold

💜 How to apply:

Please email [email protected] with:

💜 Your full name
💜 Contact phone number
💜 Your cat’s name
💜 Your cat’s s*x (male or female)
💜 Your cat’s age
💜 A suitable day and time for a microchipping appointment prior to surgery

🐾 PLEASE SHARE! 🐾

We really want to make sure these vouchers don’t go unused. If you know someone who has a cat that needs to be des*xed but they simply cannot afford it, please tag them or send this post their way. 💛

Every cat we can des*x is one less litter that could contribute to the growing stray and unwanted cat population. By working together, we can make a real difference in our community.

This initiative is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters. If you would like to help us continue providing assistance to cats and families in our community, donations are always greatly appreciated.

🐾 It Looks Like a Fight… But Is It? 🐾

This may look like a violent attack but… it’s not! It’s quite the opposite actually. Squeak and Sammy are demonstrating what friendly, playful interactions between cats can look like

Meet our unlikely best friends 💜
Squeak is around 14–16 years old (our eldest resident) Sammy is 2 years old and is the youngest resident. They have the biggest age gaps of all our permanent residents — but that hasn't stopped them from becoming the very best of buddies!

These two have decided to demonstrate the difference between play fighting and genuine fear or aggression.

🥊 Play fighting can look dramatic! Chasing, pouncing, wrestling, gentle swatting and rolling around can all be perfectly normal when both cats are relaxed, taking turns and choosing to keep engaging.

Fearful behaviour is different. Look for a tense or crouched body, puffed-up fur, wide eyes, hissing, growling, trying to escape or hide, and a clear desire to create distance.

The biggest clue? Look at the whole cat and the context — not just one hiss or swat.

Squeak and Sammy may have a LOT of years between them, but they've clearly decided that age is no barrier to friendship.

Proof that sometimes the best friendships are the most unexpected ones 💛

What an awesome donation from yesterday! The kittens are going to have such a blast trying to figure out whether this fountain is a fun water game or a refreshing drink! 😂

Thank you so much for the generous donation, and thank you to everyone who has thought of us and supported the cats and kittens in our care. We truly appreciate you! 🐾

🐾 ✂️ Des*xing Spots Filling Fast! ✂️ 🐾

🐾 See the link of the original post at the bottom for the requirements and request info 🐾

We’ve had an incredible response to our des*xing program, and we now have lots of cats and kittens booked in and ready to be des*xed! 💜

We still have enough in the budget to help 11 more kitties get des*xed, so if you’ve been thinking about getting a voucher, get in quick! ✂️

Every voucher means one more cat des*xed and one step closer to preventing unwanted litters and helping reduce the number of cats needing homes.

If you’d like to support the program, donations would be so incredibly appreciated. Every dollar helps us continue offering these free des*xings and hopefully means we’ll be able to run another program like this in the future💛

A huge thank you to everyone who has already supported, shared, donated, or booked in. We couldn’t do this without our amazing community!

🐾 11 spots remaining — Get in quick! 🐾

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one des*xed cat at a time.

If you’d like to help us make des*xing more accessible for families who need a helping hand, we’d be so grateful for your support
