Planting Day at Our Community Garden! 🌱

We officially started planting in our community garden! We planted spinach, silver beet, beans, bok choy, tomatoes, lettuce and beetroot, and we are so excited to watch everything grow over the coming weeks.

A huge thank you to our Siale Tafa elderly programme for coming along to help clean and plant. We missed seeing quite a few of you because some of our early birds had already been and gone before we arrived 😂 but we are so grateful for every helping hand!

There is something really beautiful about different generations coming together, sharing knowledge, working the land and creating something that will benefit our community.

Now we wait, water and watch our little garden grow! 💚

🌱 Community Garden Update! 🌱

Today we got stuck in and gave our community garden a good clean-up, getting everything ready for an exciting day tomorrow — our first day of vegetable planting! 🥬🌿🥕

It’s been awesome seeing this space continue to come together, and we can’t wait to start filling these garden beds and watching everything grow over the coming months.

Come along and get involved tomorrow!

A special milestone for our Kai Mo’ui Lelei Project 🌱

We are so proud to be featured in the Methodist Touchstone Newspaper. What started as a small vision continues to grow through the hands and hearts of our community.

The best part of the harvest was the sharing 🌱

Seeing everyone take kumala home to their families and communities was so special. What was grown with love is now being shared with love.

This is what it is all about, it is not just growing food, but it’s growing with people, connections, and community.

That’s a wrap for the 2026 Kumala Harvest 🍠

Great food and even better company!

A big thank you to our amazing cooks and those who prepared a beautiful lunch for everyone. After a full morning of harvesting, it was so nice to sit together, eat, laugh and enjoy each others company.

These are the moments that bring our community closer together 🤍

On Saturday it was time to harvest our Kumala! 🍠

After months of planting and caring for the garden, it was such a blessing to finally gather what has been grown with so much love. Huge thank you to Veitomoni and his sons Manu and Uiliami for faithfully leading and caring for the space.

It was so special to share this day with our Siale Tafa Elderly Group. From our young ones to our elders, everyone played a part. Many hands came together, and it made the day even more meaningful.

What a turnout and what an experience. This is what it looks like to grow together and serve together 🌱

Our first ever watermelon harvest! 🍉

These watermelons are a beautiful reflection of the love, care, and dedication poured into them over the months of growth.

The true highlight of this harvest was sharing them with our community. We were blessed to give them to members of our KSP family, our Kai Mo’ui Lelei family, and our cherished elders in Siale Tafa.

We hope you are all enjoying the last of our summer fruits as we prepare to begin harvesting our kūmara! 🌱

Tonight we had our second Growing Thursday and it was another beautiful evening of movement and connection. From the garden to the kitchen, from exercise to study time, it is so powerful seeing everyone come together with the same goal — to grow in every area of life.

A special acknowledgement to our Siale Tafa Elderly Group who continue to show up faithfully each second week. Your commitment, wisdom, and presence mean so much to our community. You lead by example and remind us that growth does not have an age limit. We are so grateful for the delicious food that is prepared, even more special because it is our ingredients from our garden that is used.

Growing Thursdays is more than just a programme.
It is community.
It is health.
It is learning.
It is growth together 🤍
