Today we had the privilege of supporting Kaea Tawera (Te Papa-o-Rotu Marae) into his Project Management Internship with Hawkins.

This two-year internship has been developed through the ongoing relationship between Waikato-Tainui and Hawkins, with a shared focus on creating meaningful pathways for rangatahi through social procurement, hands-on learning, and strong cultural and pastoral support.

We wish Kaea all the best as he begins his internship journey with Hawkins.

At today’s Ngāti Pikiao Poukai at Te Puna Whakareia marae, Te Arikinui Kuini Nga wai hono i te po shared details of her recent overseas engagements, including her meetings with King Charles and Prince William in England. Tukoroirangi Morgan, who accompanied Te Arikinui, confirmed that she conveyed "core messages" to the Crown of England about the New Zealand Government's agenda regarding Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Morgan said that Te Arikinui raised concerns about the government's "harmful actions concerning the Treaty of Waitangi," and that this pushback was "very important" to ensure the royal family "clearly understand the harmful actions of this government towards us," he said. Here’s Aukaha News reporter Maioha Panapa with this pūrongo.
