In this photo I’m all smiles - but not long after I was a blubbering little mess.

At our Harcourts Central Awards today our little charity was put forward to a couple of hundred agents and recognised for the work that our friends and I do for our community.

Sika would have been 31 years old yesterday.

A perfect reminder that you can start small, and a small gesture can absolutely make a positive impact on our greater community. Who knew 5 small hampers would turn into thousands…

I’m so proud that over the last 8 years we have gifted out thousands of hampers back out to people directly affected by su***de and those facing hardship, and kept the names alive of the many people who have sadly lost their lives to su***de. We serve to remind those left behind that we share in their grief and that they are not alone.

Thank you to my family, friends and clients who continue to support me in my real estate career, you enable me to actively donate a portion of each sale back to the charity, and I’m immensely grateful.

Each year together we raise well over $40,000 to make this happen. There are so many people who not only financially contribute but give their time, efforts, and share their knowledge and network behind the scenes that I am forever in their debt.

So, with that… I guess we start the MG 2026 campaign off.

And just like that, MG 2025 is wrapping up… well, almost.

I still have a few raffles left to do 😅 which will give us a little head start for next year.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. To our family, friends, complete strangers, and the incredible local businesses who show up year after year we simply couldn’t do this without you.

The generosity we see, both with time and financial support, continues to leave us completely blown away.

Eleven years ago today, we buried Sika. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Our lives changed forever. Eight years ago, we made the decision to give back to our community in the same way they carried us through those darkest days - with kindness, love, and support.

Tonight, we’ll light a candle for Sika and remember the good times we shared. We’ll speak the names of friends and family we’ve lost to su***de.

We’ll think of those facing their first Christmas without someone they love, and the quiet, noticeable gap at the table.

We’ll remember the Daves, the Ellens, the Jonos, the Hannahs, the Brians, the Peters, the Kims, the Monas and the people we’ve lost, they’ll be so deeply missed.

And to anyone going through a tough season (because hardship looks different for everyone), please know that you are loved. We hope this heavy chapter passes gently and soon.

Every year, Vene and I are humbled by how many people walk alongside us on this journey. Just like all those years ago, our grief feels lighter when our community stands with us and that is something we’ll never take for granted. 🥺

A massive thank you to the MG committee for helping with all the behind the scenes work, making it possible to get hampers out quickly and efficiently.

As we get geared up to deliver our hampers this year, it’s a really humbling reminder that culmination of months of hard work will come together from a bunch of family, friends and complete strangers to reach out to people they don’t know to remind them that they are loved and if they’ve lost a loved one through su***de that we share in their grief.

A big thanks to all the hearts and hands that make MG possible every year, we cannot do it without you.
