A great evening with Rotorua Business Chamber and ANZ Aotearoa Rotorua, last night 💛

It was lovely to share a little about the work of the Cancer Society and the impact community support has on the people and whānau we walk alongside every day.

With Daffodil Day coming up on 28 August, we can't wait to see our community get involved once again 🌼 www.daffodilday.org.nz/

From Rotorua to London ✈️🇬🇧

Tabitha and her partner Jase recently took their Daffy shirts overseas, sharing this snap from London.

The best part? Someone they met in London loved the shirts so much that he ordered one for himself!!

We're delighted to see a little bit of Daffodil Day reaching the other side of the world 💛

Want your own Daffy shirt? For only $35, pop into your local Cancer Society office to pick one up, with 100% of proceeds going towards supporting local people and whānau affected by cancer.

During an 8-week stay at the Cancer Society Lions Lodge in Hamilton, Kevin noticed a knitting basket with a simple “help yourself” sign.

He decided to teach himself to knit using YouTube tutorials, and went on to create a beautiful scarf entirely by hand during his stay.

That scarf later became something even more meaningful, Kevin raffled it off to friends and family, raising an incredible $1,000, with proceeds donated to Cancer Society Waikato Bay of Plenty in support of others going through cancer treatment.

We were also lucky enough to be there as the winner was drawn, congratulations to Hamish on receiving the scarf! 🧣

We’re incredibly grateful to Kevin for allowing us to share his story, and for the kindness behind turning his experience into support for others 💛

We are so proud to be the Charity of Choice at the Red Stag Rotorua Marathon this year!

Our team absolutely loved being out on the course on Saturday, supporting runners and walkers and running a water station to help keep everyone going strong.

A big thank you to Red Stag Rotorua Marathon and Athletics New Zealand for having us as be part of such a great event 👏

☀️This week we had a very special visit from some amazing students from Te Rapa Primary 💜

They held a lemonade stand to raise funds for the Cancer Society, and while they said its a “small contribution” - we couldn’t disagree more.

Every dollar makes a difference, and the thought, care and kindness behind it means everything.

Thank you for coming to visit the Cancer Society’s Lions Lodge and for reminding us that even the smallest acts can have a big impact 💛

p.s Isn’t their handmade card gorgeous?

Earlier this week we gathered in Rotorua for a gentle wellness session with Dr Sunder Iyer and Aratika Cancer Trust🧘

It was a thoughtful and calming space to explore yoga, cancer and wellbeing, and to hear different perspectives on supporting mind and body during a cancer journey.

We’re grateful to Dr Sunder for sharing his time and knowledge, and to everyone who came along and took part in the kōrero and practices.

A special thank you as well to our partners who helped bring this session together.

We are heartbroken to hear of Paige’s passing.

Paige was a much-loved part of our community and a passionate advocate, generously sharing her journey to help others access support through Cancer Society.

It was a privilege to work alongside her and to see the impact she had. She will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who loved her.
