Are you passionate about supporting whānau Māori and making a positive difference in the health and wellbeing of our community?

We have TWO exciting opportunities available to join our Te Kahu Hauora whānau!

🩺 IMMUNISATION REGISTERED NURSE

We're looking for a motivated, and experienced Immunisation Registered Nurse to support whānau through culturally responsive healthcare, preventative health education, and community immunisation services.

💚 KAIWHAKAPŪAKI WAIORA (HEALTH COACH)

We're looking for a compassionate, and approachable person who can build meaningful relationships with whānau, provide whānau-centered support, and work alongside health professionals to connect whānau with the services and resources they need.

If you're passionate about improving health outcomes and empowering whānau Māori on their wellbeing journey, we'd love to hear from you!

We’re looking for our next Practice Manager! 💙

Te Kahu Hauora is looking for a warm, capable and practical Practice Manager to join our team in Dannevirke.

This is an opportunity to help lead a growing, community-focused general practice where people and whānau are at the heart of what we do. We’re looking for someone who can support our kaimahi, keep the practice running smoothly and bring strong, practical leadership to the challenges and opportunities of rural healthcare.

A huge ngā mihi to Hamish and the wonderful teams at Dannevirke Pharmacy & Wellness Pharmacy for dropping off this beautiful wellness gift for our Te Kahu Hauora team. 🥰

Their message said it was “a small wellness gift to support you in your awesome mahi” — but gestures like this are anything but small. ❤️

Our team spend their days looking after others, so it was pretty special to have someone turn the tables and look after them for a change!

And judging by the smile… we reckon the gift has found some very willing recipients. 😂🎁

Thank you Hamish and team for thinking of us, for supporting the mahi happening in our community, and for putting a few extra smiles around the whare today.

🎓 Growing the future pharmacy workforce 💊

A little while in the making, but definitely worth sharing!

Earlier this year, we were pleased to welcome University of Auckland pharmacy students Jaweria Ahmer and Jordan Kendall-Goggin to Dannevirke for a rural pharmacy placement — gaining hands-on experience across both community pharmacy and general practice.

During their time here, Jaweria and Jordan worked alongside the teams at Dannevirke Pharmacy, Wellness Pharmacy and Te Kahu Hauora Practice, building experience across dispensing, patient counselling, vaccinations, health screening, medicines optimisation and community-based healthcare.

For our team at Te Kahu Hauora, it was a great opportunity to showcase how our GP/NP, Nurse Prescriber, Māori Mobile Nurse and wider multidisciplinary team work together to support our whānau and community. 🧡

Placements like these give future health professionals valuable insight into rural healthcare, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between community pharmacy and general practice across Dannevirke and the wider Tararua District.

Whānau can now access the Manage My Health (MMH) portal directly through the Ngāti Kahungunu ki Tāmaki-nui-a-Rua website.

Simply visit our website and look for the orange Manage My Health icon in the top-right corner. Click the icon and you’ll be taken directly to our MMH portal.

Through Manage My Health you can:
✅ Manage and update your personal details
✅ View test results and other available health information
✅ Access your health information securely online

Please note: Online appointment bookings and viewing clinical notes are not currently available through our Manage My Health portal.

A free six-week programme is coming to Dannevirke for māmā who are pregnant or parenting children under 5 years, along with their partners or support people.

Strong Start is about navigating the changes that come with parenting, building stronger relationships, managing stress and connecting with other local whānau.

🕕 6.00pm – 8.00pm
📍 The Hub, Dannevirke
👨‍👩‍👧 Small group – up to 10 whānau
🍽️ Kai and childcare provided
💚 FREE six-week programme
