Sunday funday reminder: tomorrow is the King’s Birthday public holiday 👑🇳🇿

That means the following will be closed tomorrow, Monday 1 June:

🏥 Te Kahu Hauora Clinic
🏢 NKKTNAR Admin Office
🌱 Rangatahi Space
☕ Sugar & Salt Café

We’ll be back open as normal from Tuesday 2 June — once we’ve recovered from all the serious long-weekend business… like sleeping in, visiting whānau, pretending we’ll mow the lawns, and making “just one more cuppa” last half the day 😄☕

Wishing everyone a safe and relaxed end to the long weekend. Take care out there, enjoy your Sunday, and we’ll see you Tuesday.

Ngā mihi nui,
Ngāti Kahungunu ki Tāmaki-nui-a-Rua & Te Kahu Hauora

Happy International Nurses Day 💙

Today we want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing nurses at Te Kahu Hauora! As well as all other nurses locally, in Aotearoa & internationally 💚

Thank you for the care, compassion, patience, calm, and hard mahi you bring to our organisation and community every single day. Your work often happens quietly in the background, but the impact you make is felt by whānau, patients, colleagues, and our wider community.

We’d be a bit lost without you — and probably running late too.

Ngā mihi nui to Te Ata, Melissa, Sue, Rowena, and all nurses who continue to show up, care deeply, and make a real difference.

Happy International Nurses Day.
You are appreciated more than words can say. 💐

Te Kahu Hauora Achieves Foundation Standard Accreditation!

We are proud to share that Te Kahu Hauora has successfully achieved the Foundation Standard — the national hallmark of quality for general practices across Aotearoa.

The Foundation Standard supports practices to provide safe, high-quality healthcare through strong systems, continuous quality improvement, and a commitment to best practice.

This 3-year programme also places a strong focus on diversity, equity, and cultural safety, helping practices align with New Zealand’s vision for better health outcomes for all whānau.

Achieving this milestone reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our amazing team, who strive every day to provide compassionate, whānau-centred care to our community.

Ngā mihi nui to our staff, patients, and wider community for your ongoing support and trust in us.

Enrolments Are Currently Full!

Kia Ora e te whānau,

As of this week, Te Kahu Hauora Practice has reached full capacity, which means we are unable to accept new enrolments at this time.

Any new whānau who would like to join our practice will be added to our waiting list.

We are incredibly grateful for the support, trust, and aroha our community has shown us. Reaching this point reflects the strong need for accessible, whānau-centred healthcare in our rohe, and we do not take that trust lightly.

If you already have an enrolment form, please return it to us as soon as possible so we can process it.

We understand this may be disappointing for some whānau, and we thank you sincerely for your patience, kindness, and understanding as we continue to care for our enrolled patients.

Ngā mihi nui for your ongoing support and for trusting Te Kahu Hauora with your care.

Ngā mihi,
Te Kahu Hauora

Kia Ora e te whānau

We’d like to share an important update as we continue working to provide affordable, accessible healthcare for our community.

We are making a small increase to our fees, with the aim of keeping the impact on whānau to a minimum, while ensuring we can continue delivering safe, quality care for everyone.

Updated VLCA Consultation Fees
Following a national funding change introduced last year for Very Low-Cost Access (VLCA) practices, consultation co-payments have been updated.

These new fees will come into effect from 1 May 2026

New consultation fees:
• Ages 14–17: $13.50
• Ages 18+ with Community Services Card (CSC): $20.00
• Ages 18+ without CSC: $30.50

Other Changes:
Repeat Prescription – Routine $20.00
Repeat Prescription – Urgent $30.50
ACC Consultations Co-payment CSC - remain the same until July 1st 2026
ACC Consultations Co-payment non CSC - remain the same until July 1st 2026
New Charge Did Not Attend (DNA) – CSC $20.00
New Charge Did Not Attend (DNA) – non CSC $30.50

As a VLCA practice, our commitment remains the same — to keep healthcare as affordable and accessible as possible for our whānau. This change helps us continue to provide care at a reduced cost, while supporting the growing needs of our community.
We understand that any increase can be difficult. If cost is a concern, please kōrero with our team — we are here to support you and can work alongside you to find options that suit your situation.

Ngā mihi nui,
Te Kahu Hauora
