Thor has been adopted into a wonderful home!!! The kind of update that makes it all worth while 😍

A couple of weeks ago we made a post looking for a very special home for a puppy who had a hard start in this world. Thor was part of a litter that came to us from a North Island pound at just 4 weeks old, 7 small fragile souls who fought hard to live, thanks to round the clock care from our fosters.

It became apparent that Thors development was lagging behind his siblings & it was diagnosed that he had likely been deprived of oxygen at birth. This left a big question mark over his long term prognosis & keeping this in mind, we made the call out for a family willing to open their hearts & home to Thor.

It was a big ask but the perfect people for the job saw our post. Having recently lost a dog & been previous CBBR adopters, they were well versed in the care of special needs dogs, this amazing family wasted no time in bringing Thor home forever 🥰

Now named Goose, his family write:
"He has settled in amazingly. Goose loves lying in the sun looking for anything to chew (crocs are his favourite) loves food and cuddles. He is a goofy bundle of pure joy. Smudge is very tolerant of his antics and every day we see improvements with Turbo, we are just taking it slow. Goose has us laughing multiple times a day with his quirky nature and is learning new things all the time"

Thank you to everyone who supports CBBR, in any capacity, these are the happy endings that we all make possible, together ❤️

The bakery trainees at Skills4Work Limited have chosen us for their fundraising initiative this year. During the course, the students are asked to form & implement a business idea, with the proceeds being donated to a charity of their choice & they have chosen CBBR! This is a great way to support trainee bakers & the dogs at the same time 😍

They are running a raffle with 3 prizes up for grabs! The prizes are homemade breads & desserts from an array of cultures - it sounds & looks delicious 😋

Are you signed up for the 4 Paws Marathon event yet?

It is on next Sunday, so you still have time to sign you & your running or walking buddy up! They cater all levels of fitness, from people wanting to enjoy a social walk up to the competitive runner. They even have an option for little kids to join, so the whole family can be part of the day 🐾

We will be there with merch & treats, so come find the crew, say hi & grab a bargain 🤩

Wanted! A very special home for Thor

Thor is one of a litter that arrived to CBBR from a North Island pound at only 4 weeks old. He and his siblings were nursed to good health by a tireless foster family who fed and kept watch around the clock in order to give these tiny lives a chance.

They are 12 weeks old now and 5 of the litter have gone off to beautiful homes, but as they grew and thrived, we noticed something was different about Thor. He wasn't learning at the same pace as his siblings, he had a slight head bob & wobbly mobility.

Thor has now been for 2 vet check ups to assess his progress & it has emerged that he was likely deprived of oxygen at birth. His health & growth markers are otherwise normal, and he is an affectionate playful boy who is good with other dogs, cats & children. His fosters say he is a sweet puppy who just wants to be near his people and, like all dogs, deserves a wonderful home.

Thor will likely always be “learning impaired” so we are on the hunt for an owner who understands they are taking on a dog with an unknown health outcome. He needs a special family willing to take one day at a time & receive all the love this small soul has to give.

We will not place puppies in a home where they are left alone for more than 4 hours a day until they are 6 months old, as they require regular feeding, day time company & environmental exposures.

If you meet our puppy adoption criteria and can open your heart and home to Thor please fill in an application today

Could you commit to training, socialisation and a large dose of puppy chaos? Then Turbo or Mocha may be just the new family members you've been waiting for!!!!

Turbo is an 11 week old Staffy cross male with the cutest spotty tummy and rolly face. He has been fostered with large dogs, cats and children and his foster family have a special place in their heart for this boy. Turbo is all about his people and loves nothing more than curling up under your chin for an extended cuddle nap. He also enjoys his toys and loves a good playtime.

Mocha is a beautiful 13 week old Bully cross female with a charming and confident personality. She has slotted into foster with a small dog, whom she has been very respectful of. Mocha is a truly sweet girl who will make a wonderful addition to your home.

Both have been making great progress in foster with crate training and toileting but like all puppies, will require a significant amount of time and effort put into training and proper socialisation.

We will not place puppies in a home where they are left alone for more than 4 hours a day until they are 6 months old, as they require regular feeding, day time company & environmental exposures.

If you meet our puppy adoption criteria please fill in an application today
