Local club Toastmasters Victoria meets in the Christchurch C*D Wednesday lunchtime – we warmly welcome visitors! Meetings run from 12:15pm to 1:15pm on Wednesdays. Victoria Toastmasters is a friendly and fun club. As part of the Toastmasters community we help and support members to reach their goals. Whether you need to speak publicly for your career or personal life, to run your meetings more effectively, or lead your group more effectively Toastmasters can help! So why not have fun and enjoy yourself at the same time, we offer the best of both at Victoria Toastmasters club. Come along and watch. You won't be asked to speak unless you want to. Wow check it out everyone . One of our members Sheena Hemens is on the cover of Womens Day with a feature article about her. Sheena overcame the loss of her daughter & business. She is now thriving as a grief consultant. Toastmasters is helping her develop the exceptional public speaking skills she has to make her even better!
Sheena's message from this article is that we need more bereavement leave in NZ. She's petitioning the government to increase the statutory requirement from 3 to 10 days.
Here's the thing at the time of her losses Sheena was self employed. This petition wouldn't have even affected her then. That's the type of people we have in our club, driven and compassionate.
So if your thinking of learning some new skills to maybe change your career, improve it or just meet some great people - come check us out Wednesdays midday till 1.15pm. Get more out of your lunch break!
If you've experienced the death of someone close or even agree that 3 days is too short to grieve please sign Sheena's petition. Help her make a positive difference for people suffering!

INTERNATIONAL CONTEST 2025
The last of the club contests for 2025 took place on the first December Sunday as a part of our end of year celebration. Three of our very own Toastmasters delivered incredible speech.
