✨ Tickets are now LIVE for the 2025 Futuna Lecture Series ✨

We’re honoured to welcome Francis Kéré — Pritzker Prize 2022 and Praemium Imperiale laureate — to Aotearoa this September.

📍 Auckland • Christchurch • Wellington
🎤 Three public lectures you won’t want to miss.

From his very first project — a school in his hometown of Gando, Burkina Faso, which won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (2004) — to globally celebrated works like the Burkina Faso National Assembly, the Serpentine Pavilion, and Xylem at Tippet Rise, Kéré has redefined what architecture can be: sustainable, collaborative, and deeply rooted in community.

🌍 As the first native African to receive the Pritzker Prize, Kéré is one of the world’s most visionary architects.

🎟️ Tickets available now — link in bio.
💡 20% of ticket sales will support the Kéré Foundation and its ongoing work in Burkina Faso.

We’re thrilled to welcome Ian Moore to Aotearoa for this year’s Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZIA Lecture Series ✨

📌 The Past Needs a Future
➡️ A deep dive into adaptive reuse and the future of architecture.

Ian is the principal of Ian Moore Architects (est. 1990) — an award-winning practice recognised globally, with work featured at the Venice Architecture Biennale and beyond.

Originally from New Zealand, Ian studied engineering in Auckland before moving to Sydney to complete his architecture degree with honours. Since then, he’s taught, lectured, and served on juries worldwide — including the World Architecture Festival and World Festival of Interiors.

We can’t wait to hear his insights on reimagining the built environment.

Architecture Week 2025 - NZIA members exhibition

Call for submissions

We’re inviting all NZIA members to submit a piece of creative work for an upcoming exhibition showcasing the wider creative pursuits of architects:

Made by Architects
An exhibition of creativity beyond buildings

Why:
To offer a more personal insight into the creative lives of architects and highlight the value of broader creative exploration within our profession.

What we need by 31 July:
A photo of your item, its dimensions, and a short description (please email to [email protected] with subject ‘Exhibition submission’)

If selected, what we’ll need later:
The physical item, a short explanation of how it inspires or informs your architecture, and a brief personal bio.

This exhibition will take place as part of the Aotearoa Festival of Architecture (15-19 September), with an opening Tuesday 16 September, 5pm, 65 Cambridge Terrace. As you know, wall and floor space is limited, but we’ll do our best to accommodate all submissions. If your artwork is overly precious or valuable, be aware this is an exhibition that is open to the public, so use your own judgment as to whether it is suitable or not. All exhibitors are welcome to help set up to ensure they are properly installed.
