Hi neighbours - Watch your step out there — icy mornings are no joke! This morning my front newly painted front steps were unexpectedly like a skating rink!

When the temps drop in Waikato, so does our footing. Slips and trips can happen fast, especially around driveways, yards, sheds, and farm tracks. This is a quick reminder to take extra care as we move into winter!

Clear your walkways — Knock off frost, spread grit or sand, and keep high traffic areas tidy.....

• Slow your pace — Short steps, steady balance, and no rushing, even if you're running late.
• Wear good footwear — Boots with solid grip make a huge difference.
• Use handrails and stable surfaces — Give yourself something to hold onto when you can.
• Light it up — Dark + ice = trouble. Make sure paths and entrances are well lit.

A small slip can turn into a big injury, so take a moment to look after yourself and your family. Stay upright, stay warm, and stay safe.
