🎉🐾 Birthday Week is all about looking back... 💚

This little display in the shop tells a pretty special story.

Every face you see is a Poundie who found a second chance through Pound Hounds Rescue. ❤️

And if you look really closely, you'll spot a handsome fella called Juice – our very first Poundie. 💚

Some stayed with us for days, some for months, but every single one left their paw print on our hearts and became part of the story that brought us to where we are today.

It's a lovely reminder of why RESCUED exists in the first place.

One year ago RESCUED opened its doors for the very first time.

Since then we've shared thousands of treasures, met countless amazing customers, welcomed some incredible volunteers, and helped support Pound Hounds Rescue and the work we do across our community. 💚

This week we're celebrating with spot prizes, raffles, birthday cake, and plenty of fun along the way.

Thank you for being part of our first year. Whether you've shopped, donated, volunteered, adopted, shared a post, or simply cheered us on from the sidelines — you've helped make RESCUED what it is today. 🐾

🎉🩷 Birthday Week has us feeling a little nostalgic... So it's time for a throwback

It's hard to believe that over a year ago now, this was the view looking at our carpark, from the front of the shop.

No racks. No treasures. No volunteers. No customers. No Poundies finding forever homes in The Adoption Hut. Just a big vision, LOADS of rubbish... A lot of hard work, and more than a few "what have we gotten ourselves into?" moments. 😅

Fast forward a year and RESCUED has become something pretty special — a place where our community comes together to shop, volunteer, donate, adopt, and help support dogs and families across the Waikato. 💚

We're incredibly proud of how far we've come, and even more excited about what's still to come.

One day it's the perfect jacket. The next it's a board game, a vintage teacup, or the book you've been looking for for years. 😏

Every purchase helps dogs and puppies like this little one get the second chance they deserve. 💚

Today our rescue team are heading out to pick up another pup, to bring him into Pound Hounds Rescue care. A puppy who, through no fault of his own, needs somewhere safe to land until he can find his new hoomans.

When you shop, donate, volunteer or comment on and share our posts, you're helping support wee babes like this little guy.

To kick off the countdown to our birthday week celebrations, we're starting with not one, but TWO amazing raffles! 🎟️✨

Both hampers are absolutely chocka with goodies, treats, and a few essentials that might just help take some of the sting out of the supermarket bill. 😉💚

A huge thank you to Karen at for her generous hamper donation, and to , Hunting and Fishing Cambridge , and our awesome RESCUED volunteers for helping put together our second incredible hamper.
