๐ŸŒŸ National Volunteer Week Spotlight ๐ŸŒŸ

Today, we're proud to celebrate Neil Cox and his remarkable contribution to Hamilton City Gymnastics.

Neil has been part of the club's story since its formation in 1992, playing a key role in bringing together the clubs that became Hamilton City Gymnastics and helping realise the vision of a permanent home for gymnastics in Hamilton.

More than 30 years later, Neil's commitment remains as strong as ever. From supporting events and maintaining the club grounds to assisting with equipment repairs and sharing his knowledge and experience, Neil continues to make an invaluable contribution to the club and its community.

Neil's dedication, generosity, and passion have helped shape Hamilton City Gymnastics into the club it is today.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you, Neil, for your ongoing commitment to gymnastics and the lasting impact you have made on your club and community. ๐Ÿ™

๐ŸŒŸ Volunteer Week Spotlight ๐ŸŒŸ

Today, we're proud to celebrate Louwrens from ICON Trampoline Club in Auckland.

Louwrens is the superstar behind the scenes, dedicating countless hours of his own time to managing the technical side of competitions. His work helps ensure events run smoothly and efficiently, which is something many of us rely on but don't always see.

In the midst of the pressures and challenges that come with competition days, Louwrens brings a calm, steady presence. No matter what technical issue arises, he tackles it with professionalism, patience, and a quiet confidence that keeps everything on track.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, effort, and expertise he gives to both his club and the wider gymnastics community. Quite simply, many events would not be possible without volunteers like Louwrens.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you, Louwrens, for everything you do. Your contribution to our sport does not go unnoticed. ๐Ÿ™

Volunteers make gymnastics possible. ๐Ÿ’š

As National Volunteer Week begins, we want to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers who help our sport thrive.

Across Aotearoa, volunteers play an integral role in club committees, coaching, judging, events, fundraising, athlete support, and countless other areas. Their time, skills, and commitment create opportunities for gymnasts at every level and help build strong, connected gymnastics communities.

Throughout the week, we'll be celebrating just a few of the many volunteers who make a difference in our sport. We also encourage clubs to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the volunteers within your own community. Whether it's a social media post, a personal thank you, or a club celebration, every gesture of appreciation matters.

To all gymnastics volunteers, thank you. Our sport would not be possible without you. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ“ฃAnnouncing the 2026 Gymnastics NZ Board.

We are pleased to announce the 2026 Gymnastics NZ Board following last night's Annual General Meeting.

We welcome back Bruce Horwood, who was re-elected by members for a further term. Bruce brings extensive experience in governance, financial services, risk and compliance, and has a long connection to gymnastics through both club leadership and his family's involvement in the sport.

We are also pleased to confirm that the Board Appointments Panel has re-appointed Sarah Everton. Sarah brings significant experience in accountancy, banking, and governance, alongside a lifelong connection to gymnastics as a former gymnast, coach, and gymnastics parent.

We welcome the 2026 Board for another year and look forward to continuing our work together to support and grow gymnastics across Aotearoa.
