A huge thank you to Auckland City Toyota for making magic happen for two of our RMHC tamariki!

Through a partnership with Auckland City Toyota, Toyota NZ and New Zealand Rugby, Aranui was selected for an unforgettable Junior All Blacks Experience, recognising kids who show resilience, kindness, courage and a positive attitude.

The day included a guided tour of the All Blacks Experience with former All Black Ian Jones, an exclusive merch pack, and a taste of the values and spirit of New Zealand rugby up close.

Thank you, Auckland City Toyota, for your incredible generosity and for being such a valued part of the RMHC family. We're so grateful for your ongoing support. 🏈

A huge thank you to the team at El Choppo for generously donating their time and expertise to help spruce up the grounds at our Grafton Mews House in Auckland.

From trimming overgrown trees to helping create a safer, tidier and more welcoming outdoor environment, their work has made a real difference to the House and the families who call it home while their child receives medical treatment.

For families spending weeks or even months away from home, the little things matter. Well-maintained outdoor spaces provide places to take a breath, enjoy some fresh air and find a moment of calm during an incredibly challenging time.

We're incredibly grateful to Luke Po***ck and the El Choppo team for their kindness and generosity. Their donation of services will help us continue providing welcoming spaces and wraparound support for families when they need it most ❤️🌴

When Jasmin and her partner Joe learned at their 20-week scan that their baby daughter Te Hana had a serious congenital heart condition, their world changed in an instant. What followed was months of uncertainty, specialist appointments, and the daunting reality that they would need to leave their home in North Canterbury and relocate to Auckland so Te Hana could receive life-saving treatment.

Since then, Te Hana has undergone surgeries, hospital admissions, and countless trips between home, Christchurch Hospital and Auckland. Along the way, Ronald McDonald House became more than just a place to stay - it became a home away from home, keeping their family together through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

To date, Te Hana and Jasmin have spent 178 nights away from home, with Ronald McDonald House providing comfort, stability and a place where their family could simply be together. "Every moment of normal family life we experienced during some of the hardest days of our lives was made possible by people we will probably never meet," says Jasmin.

Stories like Te Hana's remind us why Ronald McDonald House exists – to ensure families can stay close when it matters most ❤️

As Volunteering New Zealand National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible people who give their time, energy and kindness to RMHC New Zealand.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our Houses - creating warm welcomes, offering practical support, and helping families feel at home during some of the toughest times of their lives.

Volunteers like Jesse, who has quietly shown up at our Christchurch House each week, making a difference in ways both big and small. We're so grateful for her, and for every volunteer who helps keep the House running.

Thank you for all that you do.

As part of National Volunteer Week, we'd like to shine a spotlight on one of our wonderful Wellington House volunteers, Sharmalee.

Since joining the team in 2021, Sharmalee has generously donated more than 570 hours of her time as a Housekeeping volunteer! She says there are two reasons she loves volunteering: the people she gets to work alongside, and the opportunity to do her bit to help others.

Every Tuesday, you'll find Sharmalee at the Wellington House, lending a hand wherever she's needed. Whether it's housekeeping tasks, repairing a torn duvet, or working her magic with a sewing machine to give well-loved items a new lease on life, she's always ready to help with a smile.

We're incredibly grateful for Sharmalee's dedication, generosity and lively spirit. Thank you for everything you do for RMHC NZ families, Sharmalee - we're lucky to have you ❤️

This week we're celebrating National Volunteer Week, Aotearoa's largest celebration of volunteering.

This year's theme, *Your Year to Volunteer - Tōu tau ki te tūao*, recognises the incredible people who already volunteer their time and energy, while encouraging others to get involved and experience the difference volunteering can make.

At RMHC New Zealand, our volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. From those who have faithfully shown up week after week for decades, to individuals and teams who cook meals for families, support events, stock pantries, or lend a hand with working bees around our Houses and Family Rooms - every contribution helps keep families together when it matters most.

To every volunteer who gives their time, skills and heart to RMHC NZ: thank you. Your impact reaches far beyond what you can see, helping families stay close to their child during some of life's toughest moments.

Happy National Volunteer Week. This one's for you ❤️

Pictured are little cutie Ashton and his mum Kaitlyn at our Wellington House.

While caring for Ashton, Kaitlyn and her husband are also supporting their newborn in NICU. For families with very young children, being away from home and separated from their support network can be incredibly tough.

That's why RMHC NZ is here: keeping families close when they need each other most.
