Fair Food collects surplus fresh foods and distributes it to groups who work with people in need across West Auckland. Connecting food business donors with the community sector is an ongoing positive engagement which is strengthening communities over the long term. Fair Food provides a regular source of fresh fruit and vegetables at no charge to local charities. By collecting, sorting and redistri

buting over 100,000kgs of surplus food, Fair Food has saved 33 million litres of water and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 990,000kgs since February 2012.

Fair Food’s reach goes beyond food. It has no barrier to volunteering, so people from across the community come to help.
One man walks 5km from Te Atatū to volunteer because he knows the warehouse will be warm and he will get a warm meal. Others come through community service or disability support organisations.

Our community has stepped up to make sure no mum misses out this Mother’s Day. Overnight Weetbix and strawberry yoghurt is heading out to hundreds of whānau thanks to the volunteers who’ve been busy making care packs, generously donated by Sanitarium Health Food Company NZ and Fonterra NZ
