PHRC was pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Basudev Pandey from Nagasaki University, Japan, who also serves as PHRC’s Research Advisor and Research Collaborator.
His visit provided an important opportunity to discuss ongoing research collaboration, exchange ideas, and explore future opportunities for strengthening one health and research partnerships between PHRC and Nagasaki University.

We are pleased to share that Dr. Yogendra Shah, Research Fellow at the Planetary Health Research Centre (PHRC), has published article in The Lancet Global Health titled:
“The hidden dimension of tuberculosis: non-human primate reservoirs and One Health strategies.”
This contribution highlights the importance of looking at tuberculosis through a planetary Health lens, recognizing the links between human health, animal health, and shared environments.
PHRC congratulates Dr. Shah and all co-authors for this important contribution to global health research and policy dialogue.

Her visit highlighted the essential leadership of Nepal’s nursing professionals, who play a pivotal role in advancing planetary health through frontline care, community engagement, and advocacy for climate‑resilient health systems. As trusted connectors between health services and communities, nurses are uniquely positioned to champion environmental stewardship and equitable health outcomes.
PHRC looks forward to strengthening collaboration with the Nepal Nursing Association to elevate nursing leadership and integrate planetary health into practice, education, and policy for a healthier, more resilient future.

Empowering researchers through knowledge and ethics!
PHRC successfully conducted a Health Research Ethics Training Workshop for our researchers, featuring an insightful session by Ms. Namita Ghimire, Chief of the Ethical Review M & E Section at the Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC).
