Il-Mewt - xi tfisser fiż-żminijiet tal-lum? Lejn l-aħħar tas-seklu 20 il-kelma ‘mewt’ kważi saret terminu kliniku - realtà li tinftiehem permezz tax-xjenza. Iżda f’dinja li qiegħda tinbidel b’ritmu mgħaġġel, fejn l-intelliġenża artifiċjali, it-tibdil fil-klima, u l-kunflitti globali qiegħdin ibiddlu l-ħajja tal-bniedem b’modi radikali - xi tfisser il-Mewt?

Din is-serata ser tagħti spazju lill-komunità sabiex teżamina l-mewt minn aspetti antropoloġiċi, soċjali, storiċi, u artistiċi. Il-grupp letterarju Muża Karkariża, permezz ta’ kitbiet li jinkludu riċerka, studji, rakkonti u poeżija,se jressaqna eqreb lejn aspetti storiċi u kulturali marbuta mal-mewt f’Birkirkara.

Din is-serata ser tlaqqagħna mal-komunità Karkariża u naraw kif tgħix il-mument tal-mewt: mid-dfin fir-raħal, il-ġarr tal-mejtin, it-talb u l-qniepen, il-murtali, id-djalett Karkariż u poeżiji li se jressquna viċin ta’dawn ir-riti u tradizzjonijiet. F’dan il-vjaġġ se niltaqgħu ma’ missirijietna, għalhekk se nagħtu ħajja lill-identità Karkariża, filwaqt li ngħożżu l-wirt storiku u kulturali tagħna.

Ma’ dawn ir-ritwali miktuba u mleħħna, l-esperjenza ħa tkun imżewwqa b’mużika, kant u anke għana tal-fatt, u se toffri lill-udjenza esperjenza kulturali u
artistika unika li tgħaqqad il-kelma, il-mużika u l-memorja storika.

🏆 The Jesuits’ Church Foundation warmly congratulates the Restoration and Preservation Department on receiving the **Built Heritage Conservation Award** at the Premju Emmanuel Luigi Galizia.

Visit the Oratories of the Immacolata and the Onorati (adjacent to the former Jesuits' Church) in Valletta with Pietre Vive.

These guided visits will help you reconnect with the space, with a special focus on the art and its spiritual significance. Come and explore these wonderful Baroque spaces beyond their aesthetic or historical value. Live meditative organ music will accompany the visit.

These visits are free and you can drop by any time, but they will take place on a 'first come first served' basis.

A recital by flautist Rebecca Hall, Principal Flute with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, covering a wide range of music for flute, from Bach’s flute sonatas to contemporary works by Maltese composer Veronique Vella. Also on the programme is the Malta premiere of ‘Danza de la Mariposa’ by American composer Valerie Coleman. Joining her in this recital is her daughter Sophia Farrugia on the cello, to perform Haydn’s Trio Sonata in C major.
