Last week, residents of RISe Foundation Malta, together with staff members, carried out community work at the Ħal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex World Heritage Site, contributing their time and effort towards the preservation of an important part of Malta’s national heritage.

The work included the careful removal of heaps of soil that were covering two large megalithic stones.

This is an initiative that RISe is particularly proud of. Giving back to the community through meaningful work forms an important part of our restorative approach. Contributing to the preservation of our national heritage makes this work even more meaningful. These sites belong not only to us today but also to the generations that will follow, and we believe that playing even a small part in their care and preservation is a valuable contribution to the wider community.

Community work is carried out towards the latter part of Phase 1 of the RISe Programme and normally consists of approximately 50 hours of service. It represents an important part of the restorative journey: moving beyond personal development towards actively giving something back to the community.
