Malta Chamber of SMEs Malta Chamber of SMEs (formerly GRTU) represents Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises with more than 7,500 members.

Malta Chamber of SMEs (formerly GRTU) is a non-political organisation that serves as the small businessesโ€™ voice within government departments and state corporations and authorities and has gained wide recognition both on a national level as well as worldwide. The SME Chamber policies have always been geared towards the fostering of private venture and the advancement of small and medium-sized own

er managed enterprises. This while promoting the principles of a free enterprise economy without neglecting the peculiarities of the viability of Maltaโ€™s small economy. The SME Chamber constantly believes that greater prosperity is within reach if commercial principles and practices rather than political ideology were to guide economic policy-making. As a national representative voice with the ability to negotiate a betterment of current and future business prospects, the SME Chamber strives to organise licensed businesses in Malta, particularly those in the retail, wholesale, imports, services, distribution and crafts sector, from all economic activities so that they can achieve higher levels of efficiency and standards of operation within a democratic and liberal economic business environment. A major thrust of the Malta Chamber of SMEs is the encouragement of investment and re-investment by those who really have the interest to make them: Maltese Entrepreneurs. The SME Chamber believes that it is the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs that bring more investments to Malta and not the efforts of bureaucrats. The Malta Chamber of SMEs is led by a President and elected voluntary Council Members all managers of private businesses. Malta Chamber of SMEs is administered by a team of professionals, under the direction of the Director General, with years of experience in all matters effecting the performance of SMEs and in particular Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs). At EU level the Malta Chamber of SMEs has direct representation in the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in representation of Maltese Employers, at the European Social Fund Committee and on EuroCommerce in representation of Maltese enterprises in Commerce and in UEAPME in representation of Maltese SMEs and craft enterprises. At national level the SME Chamber represents Maltese SMEs especially small businesses on MCESD, Employment Relations Board, Malta EU Steering and Action Committee, Malta Enterprise board, Building Industry Consultative Council, Retail Price Index, Malta Qualification Council, Malta Tourism Authority, Malta Consumers and Competition Affairs Authority, Enterprise Consultative Council and others.

๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸฃ The Malta Chamber of SMEs earlier today welcomed a business delegation from Tunisia and organised a B2B networking meeting with Maltese businesses and members of the Chamber. ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ณ

The event, held at Malta Enterprise, was organised in collaboration with the Tunisian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and aimed to strengthen commercial ties and explore new opportunities for cooperation between businesses from both countries.

During the opening session, Malta Chamber of SMEs COO, Mr Andrew Aquilina, highlighted the importance of fostering stronger business relations between Malta and Tunisia.

The President of the Tunisian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Nejib Mellouli, also addressed participants, emphasising the value of collaboration and the potential for future partnerships.
