🎭 MEET THE ARTIST – HOLLY-ANNE HULL 🎶

Holly-Anne is an accomplished West End performer, known for her powerful vocals and captivating stage presence. She has performed leading roles across the UK and internationally, including the iconic role of Fantine in Les Misérables.

Two small stories behind one of the most famous pieces in classical music.

When Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony premiered in Vienna in 1808, the orchestra had only one rehearsal. It was also freezing, the concert lasted more than four hours, and the performance was far from a success. Thankfully, the music survived the evening rather well.

And those famous four opening notes? During the Second World War, they became associated with V for Victory, as their rhythm matches the Morse code for the letter V. The BBC even used the motif in its broadcasts.

Come and hear the opening movement of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony live at Jersey Opera House on 10 October.

Music has the power to change lives.

Through Music in Action Bursary Scheme, we are helping children access instrumental lessons regardless of their financial circumstances, opening doors to new opportunities.

More than 90% of pupils taking part in the programme told us that learning an instrument has helped them become more confident.

Every lesson is about so much more than learning notes on a page, it's about building self-belief, resilience and love of music.

What a wonderful afternoon at our Bursary Scheme Summer Showcase!

A huge thank you to our incredible bursary pupils for sharing their hard work and dedication. Watching their confidence and musicianship grow throughout the year has been a real privilege.

We would also like to extend our thanks to:

Thank you to the The Jersey Theatre Critic for this review!

I had the pleasure of seeing the Friday night performance of Music in Action’s latest Musical Theatre concert, Phantom of the Opera and West End Classics on the 26th June (sponsored by Seabourn Cruises). The concert was performed by West End stars Luke McCall and Manon Taris, who starred as The Phantom and Christine in China in Love Never Dies.

Both performers were charming, engaging and had fantastic voices. Luke McCall’s powerful Baritone perfectly compliments Manon Taris’s soaring soprano. The program was a lovely mix of iconic Broadway classics, modern hits, Disney favourites and underrated gems from the expected Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies, to Les Misérables, Carousel and Bridges of Madison County.

My favourite performances were the title song from from The Phantom of the Opera, A Change In Me (Beauty and The Beast - Stage Version), Evermore - (Beauty and The Beast (2017), Out There (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Part of Your World (The Little Mermaid), Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again (The Phantom of the Opera), Til I Hear You Sing (Love Never Dies) and Tonight (West Side Story) but every single song was wonderful and brilliantly performed. I really hope to have the opportunity in the future to see both Luke McCall and Manon Taris sing again and I am really looking forward to Music in Action’s next fundraising concert of showtunes in October. The aforementioned concert will be Les Misérables and West End Classics and will star Holly- Anne Hull (former Fantine, former Christine Daaé and ⅓ of country pop band Remember Monday who competed for the UK in Eurovision 2025).

Not only do Music in Action enrich our local music and theatre scene by putting this events on with world class west end and professional performers but the profits from these concerts go straight back into funding the brilliant work that music in action do, making music and singing accessible to as many young people on the island as possible and taking live music into care homes to enrich the lives of some of our older population.

What a truly unforgettable weekend! 🎭✨

Our Phantom of the Opera & West End Classics concerts were a sell-out success, with packed audiences at Jersey Opera House and standing ovations for the incredible performances from West End stars and .

Their outstanding talent, passion and connection with the audience made for two magical evenings celebrating the very best of musical theatre.
