We believe a child’s potential only needs the right person to show up. So, when we connected Sakshi with our online volunteers in the US, we hoped for a good partnership, and what we got was a bond that helped her ace her exams and sparked a lifelong love of learning.
It is moments like this that remind us why we exist: to give every child the best chance at a better future. Every hour a volunteer gives, every donation and even every like and share helps us build more bridges like this one.
Here is her story, in her words. 👇
“My name is Sakshi. Today, I just want to share a little about what Door Step School Foundation means to me.
My journey with Door Step School Foundation began in November 2022, when I was in 8th standard. I come from a middle-class family, so education is a very big opportunity for me. Door Step School Foundation has supported me and my family in many ways.
Our wonderful Rajani Ma’am and the whole team have always given children many opportunities through educational trips, student gatherings, science exhibitions, summer activities and many other programmes.
I have seen this support in my own family too. My brother once participated in a science exhibition and presented a unique experiment. Everyone appreciated his work, and our parents felt very proud.
For me, the online English classes were very important. Sanika Ma’am and Prachi Ma’am teach us from America, taking time out of their busy schedules to support us. When I started, I could not even read English properly. They taught me from the basics, and because of them, I became much more confident in English.
With their support, I passed my 10th with a first-class result. My parents were very proud, and this encouraged me to continue my education.
When I look back, I feel Doorstep School has given me much more than education—it has given me confidence and opportunities.
I’m truly thankful to Rajani Ma’am, Sanika Ma’am, Prachi Ma’am, all my teachers, and the entire Door Step School Foundation team.
Thank you so much”
