Bondre Nagar marks one year since completion — Maharashtra’s first slum redevelopment project under PMAY–Beneficiary Led Construction.

The project has enabled improved housing, access to sanitation, and better living conditions for the community. One year on, the change continues to hold — in how people live and experience their everyday.

This milestone reflects a collective effort across partners, teams, and the community.

The Mula–Mutha River Revival 🌿

What happens after water goes down the drain?

As part of the PARMM initiative, students recently visited a Sewage Treatment Plant in Bhopodi, Pune to understand how cities treat wastewater and why sanitation infrastructure plays a critical role in protecting the Mula–Mutha River.

During the visit, students observed the different stages of wastewater treatment and learned how sewage from households is processed before being safely released back into the environment.

Experts and senior officials interacted with the students, explaining the treatment processes and answering questions about how cities manage wastewater and protect urban water bodies.

Experiences like these help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the real systems that keep cities functioning — while also building awareness among young citizens about sustainable water management.

The Mula–Mutha River Revival in Action

Young voices. Clean streets. Shared responsibility. 🌱

Under the PARMM (Pollution Abatement of River Mula-Mutha River) Project, a Special Cleanliness Drive and Awareness Rally was organised in Dhanakwadi–Sahakarnagar.

Students of Karmaveer Bhausaheb Hire High School, run by Akhil Bharatiya Maratha Parishad, participated in Shramdaan — cleaning their school premises before leading an awareness rally to Ambedkar Vasahat.

Through slogans and songs, they reminded the community that sanitation, health, and environmental protection begin with everyday action.
