Rujuta Soman is one of the most accomplished Kathak dancers in India and is an acclaimed soloist.
She has performed in many prestigious festivals nationally and internationally solo as well as with her own troupe.
Under the aegis of the 'Rujuta Soman Cultural Academy', Rujuta and her dance troupe have delighted and enthralled dance enthusiasts all over India and the world at various prestigious platforms including China, France, United Kingdom and Germany.
Rujuta is empaneled with 'Established Category' of ICCR's (Indian Council For Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs) reference panel of Artists.
Through ICCR Rujuta has got an opportunity to travel and showcase Indian Culture through Indian classical dance Kathak along with her senior disciples to the seven European countries Switzerland, Germany, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Austria and Spain.
Born with an artistic and creative flair, Rujuta has been pushing the traditional boundaries of kathak through her collaborations with various renowned artists like George Brooks, Mame Khan, Pdt. Jayteertha Mevundi, Pt Purbayan Chatterjee and many more.
Her performances are a delight to the masses and critics equally due to the grace and energy that she carries, while experimenting with content, taal and music to bring something new to the audiences.
One of her recent presentations, "Mallpractice and the show" is an experimental theatre play, casting Rujuta as the lead solo artist. It is directed and written by Sree Atul Pethe, a respected name in this field. The show was immensely appreciated and well received by the audiences which include eminent personalities from the film and theatre industry.
