As we mark 80 years of serving children and adults with Intellectual Disability, this partnership with NIEPID is more than a milestone — it’s a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to creating real access to education for every child with ID.

What began as a passionate project at Jai Vakeel Foundation grew into Disha Abhiyan — a structured education program now reaching over 450 special schools across Maharashtra.

Now, with NIEPID’s national platform, we take a significant step forward. Together, we will work to ensure that the NIEPID Disha Curriculum — tailored to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and potential — moves from aspiration to reality across India.

“It’s the small moments. The student who points to a picture to communicate. The one who comfortably sits through a class. The parent who says ‘thank you’.”

These everyday victories, says Sandhya Ukkalkar, are everything.

We’re proud to share that Sandhya — Principal of our Jai Vakeel Autism Centre — has been recognised as one of ScooNews’ Teacher Warriors 2025.

From a mother looking out for her son, to becoming a leading voice at our Autism Centre — Sandhya’s journey is one of deep commitment, quiet strength, and transformative impact.

This recognition is a moment of pride for all of us at Jai Vakeel Foundation, and a tribute to the power of an individual to make a difference.

We’ve always believed that inclusion starts with awareness—and Sitaare Zameen Par is already doing what most films don’t: sparking honest, necessary conversations.

From casting neurodivergent actors to calling out everyday exclusion, the trailer alone gives us 5 powerful reasons to pay attention.

We’ll hold our full review until after the big release—but for now, this trailer is already leading the way to all the right conversations.
