Transforming Education at the Grassroots | Shahapur, Maharashtra, INDIA

On 17 April 2026, Umang Foundation marked a significant milestone with the handover of the renovated ZP School at Thakurpada, Cluster Sakhroli, Block Shahapur, District Thane.

What made this occasion truly special was the presence of senior leadership from Eide Bailly LLP, who travelled all the way from the United States. Their visit reflects a powerful belief — that meaningful CSR goes beyond writing cheques; it is about being present, engaging on the ground, and driving real change.

The transformation of the school speaks for itself:
· From dark classrooms to well-lit learning spaces
· From chipped walls to educational, inspiring environments
· From damaged flooring to safe, tiled classrooms
· From worn exteriors to vibrant, welcoming structures

This is more than just infrastructure development — it is about creating an ecosystem where children from tribal communities can learn, grow, and dream bigger.

A heartfelt thank you to all stakeholders who made this possible. Together, we are building not just schools, but futures.

Today, as I reflect on this journey, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and contentment.

Building an organization—whether non-profit or for-profit—demands much more than just intent. It requires clarity of purpose, persistence, endurance, patience, high energy, passion, and a true understanding of the need. Over the years, this journey has asked for dedication, sacrifices, and at times, even compromising personal space—but every bit has been worth it.

What started as a small effort has today grown into a 17-year-old tree, rooted in compassion, love, and commitment. Looking back, it fills me with satisfaction and has helped me evolve, teaching me invaluable lessons along the way.

Through the Umang Foundation, we have been fortunate to directly touch over 5,00,000 lives, with the support of more than 30,000 incredible volunteers who have each contributed at least once to this journey. Being recognized 5 times in the Limca Book Of Records is a testament to this collective effort.

From organizing blood donation camps, distributing stationery, building and renovating government schools across Maharashtra and beyond, to conducting thousands of workshops, supporting tribal communities with a heartfelt connection, and ensuring water supply in areas where it is needed the most—this journey has been vast and deeply meaningful. Even if we begin to document everything, it would run into hundreds of pages.

Many people often ask me what I have gained from this journey. My answer has always been simple—blessings, genuine friendships, and connections with people who were once beyond my reach. These are treasures I will cherish for a lifetime.

Today, I can truly say—I am satisfied with this journey called life.

🌸 An Inspirational Women’s Day Story for billions to learn

This International Women’s Day, Ashish and I experienced a moment that truly touched our hearts.

We visited "Aajibainchi Shala" — the world’s first school dedicated to grandmothers. Walking into the classroom was like stepping into a story of courage, hope, and second chances.

Sitting on the benches were women in their 70s and beyond… women who, in their childhood, never had the opportunity to go to school. Life demanded that they take care of families, homes, and responsibilities long before they could even hold a pencil.

But decades later, they are back in a classroom.

With notebooks in their hands and bright smiles on their faces, these grandmothers are learning to read, write, and explore the world they were once denied. Their excitement felt no different from that of young children discovering something new for the first time.

To celebrate their spirit, we gifted them sarees and promised them a school picnic soon. The joy on their faces was priceless. Yet what they gave us in return was far greater — a reminder that it is never too late to learn, to dream, or to start again.

Their determination is a powerful lesson for all of us. Age may add years to life, but courage adds life to years.

Grateful to witness their inspiring journey and to be a small part of this beautiful story.

🏃‍♂️ The TATA Mumbai Marathon always brings a unique energy—but this year, it was truly special.

At 5:00 AM on Sunday morning, when full marathoners were pushing their limits, children from Umang Foundation, representing various schools from the Kasara Ghat region, delivered an unforgettable performance along the route.

Their enthusiasm, smiles, and vibrant performances were absolute eye-candy for every runner. The encouragement they offered—through music, movement, and pure joy—re-energized tired legs and lifted spirits in the most beautiful way. Many runners slowed down not out of fatigue, but to absorb the positivity and cheer these children shared so generously.

Moments like these remind us that marathons are not just about endurance and timing—they are about community, inclusion, and inspiration. A heartfelt salute to the children of Umang Foundation for turning early morning hours into a celebration of motivation and human connection. 👏✨

🎨✨ Sometimes, the best lessons in life are learned not in classrooms — but by getting your hands dirty. ✨

At ZP School, Vihigaon Gawtha (Kasara, Shahapur, District Thane, Maharashtra), something truly beautiful happened. The young volunteers of Umang Foundation picked up paint brushes, rolled up their sleeves, and stepped into a world very different from their own — to paint the walls of a rural government school.

What started as a wall-painting activity soon became a lesson in humility, empathy, and gratitude.

With every brush stroke, our volunteer and their kids realized how much it means when someone shows up for you — when someone cares enough to make your space brighter, happier, and more dignified.

These walls will now greet hundreds of school children every day — not just with colour, but with a silent message: “You are seen. You are valued. Your future matters.”, This is the magic of volunteering. It doesn’t just change communities — it changes the hearts of those who serve.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your time and effort can truly make a difference — the answer is yes. Come join us. Bring your hands, your heart, and your humanity. Together, we can keep painting hope where it is needed most. 💛

🩸✨ When Corporate Compassion Saves Lives ✨🩸

On 9 January 2026, the Head Office of Unity Small Finance Bank, Mumbai, in partnership with Umang Foundation, became a powerful symbol of humanity in action. What unfolded was not just a blood donation camp — it was a reminder that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when given the opportunity.

By creating an open and supportive space for their employees, the leadership at Unity Small Finance Bank enabled hundreds of professionals to pause their busy schedules and choose compassion — to come forward and donate blood, knowing that their simple act could give someone else a second chance at life.

The response was overwhelming.
Not because anyone was told to participate…
But because people wanted to.

This is what happens when purpose meets leadership.
This is what happens when corporate responsibility turns into human impact.

Umang Foundation is deeply grateful to Unity Small Finance Bank and Centrum Foundation for standing beside us in this life-saving mission. Together, we are not just organizing camps — we are building a culture of care, empathy, and responsibility.

Because somewhere today, a patient will live…
because someone at this camp chose to give. ❤️🩸
