Swadhaar FinAccess (SFA) is a Mumbai based non-profit that provides financial education to women living in slum communities. Many of these work as domestic helps, do piece rate job works and so on with uncertain and irregular incomes. They contribute substantially to the household incomes, and sometimes are sole or major bread winners for their families. SFA’s specially designed Financial Educatio

n Programme (FEP) aims to empower them with education and skills to make informed financial decisions with regard to their household finances. Financial education has had a positive impact not only on the participants but also on their immediate family members; spouses and children. The women and their families have started to save, cleared debts and have started to plan and manage their finances more effectively. Women have become empowered, confident and have started making personal financial decisions

Progress begins when access meets confidence. ✨
At Swadhaar FinAccess, we believe digital financial inclusion is not only about technology but about helping move from financial vulnerability to greater self-reliance and agency in everyday life.

For Reena Chauhan, learning to do digital payments transformed everyday struggles into opportunity. What once meant long waits at the bank now means managing transactions directly from her shop, saving time, increasing earnings and planning ahead for her daughter’s future!

Her journey reflects a powerful shift in her financial persona - moving from an "Indifferent Manager" to an "Optimistic Influencer" where growing confidence and digital access are enabling her to take informed decisions and influence her family and community.

Where life closed every door, hope emerged as a new light. ✨

At Swadhaar FinAccess, we work to make financial systems accessible through awareness, guidance and last-mile support, helping individuals build resilience.

Shaardi Bai’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience. After losing her husband, she spent five years struggling to access her family’s savings due to missing documentation and lack of guidance. With financial literacy training and continuous handholding from Swadhaar FinAccess, she was able to recover her funds, build a home for her five children, and support her family’s health needs.

Swadhaar led a powerful, on-ground movement across four states during Financial Literacy Week 2026 with our esteemed partner Reserve Bank of India (RBI) - transforming awareness into action through community-driven initiatives.

Through large-scale campaigns, Jagrukta Rath outreach, awareness vehicles, and prabhat pheris, our teams mobilized communities at scale. Engagement activities like nukkad nataks, mehndi and rangoli awareness, painting and quiz competitions, and pledge drives made learning interactive and relatable. We also ensured inclusion through dedicated outreach with specially abled and transgender communities, alongside facilitating CKYC linkages, trainings and product linkage camps to enable real access to financial systems.

We regularly support individuals with KYC access and guidance as part of our fieldwork. During Financial Literacy Week (Feb 9–13, 2026) this became our focused mission, helping thousands understand why KYC: सुरक्षित बैंकिंग की ओर पहला कदम
