SFA furthers financial literacy of the urban poor, especially women, through workshops & lectures, a

Swadhaar FinAccess (SFA) is a Mumbai based non-profit that provides financial education to women living in slum communities. Many of these work as domestic helps, do piece rate job works and so on with uncertain and irregular incomes. They contribute substantially to the household incomes, and sometimes are sole or major bread winners for their families. SFA’s specially designed Financial Educatio

n Programme (FEP) aims to empower them with education and skills to make informed financial decisions with regard to their household finances. Financial education has had a positive impact not only on the participants but also on their immediate family members; spouses and children. The women and their families have started to save, cleared debts and have started to plan and manage their finances more effectively. At Swadhaar FinAccess we have a phygital ecosystem that combines trusted community trainers with digital tools delivered through channels people already use everyday.
Our WhatsApp-based learning platform and AI-enabled conversational journeys bring financial education directly into familiar user environments, reducing friction and making learning more accessible for low-literacy and first-time digital users!
We are now ready to scale the next generation of conversational, multilingual and voice-enabled financial capability solutions. Our partnership with Gates Foundation is helping us to accelerate that journey, increase outreach, deepen our understanding of user engagement and build scalable models that can strengthen financial capability for millions more people across India. Empowering students to become responsible digital citizens.

As part of our Cyber Tuesday initiative, Swadhaar FinAccess conducted cyber safety awareness sessions in schools across Aurangabad, Bihar, equipping students with practical knowledge to identify online fraud, safeguard personal information, and report cybercrime through the 1930 National Cyber Crime Helpline.

The initiative was strengthened by the presence and support of the District Administration, including the District Magistrate, the Police Department, banking partners, and local stakeholders, reinforcing our shared commitment to building a safer digital ecosystem.

Together, we are empowering young minds with the knowledge and confidence to navigate the digital world safely.

Extremely delighted to announce the launch of our partnership with the esteemed Tata Trusts through the Swadhaar Saarthi Program, aimed at strengthening financial and digital inclusion among underserved communities across India.
We at Swadhaar FinAccess are honoured and very humbled by the opportunity to work alongside such an iconic, stellar institution that has played a hugely transformative role in 's development journey.

Over the years, we have seen that true financial inclusion goes far beyond access. It is about building awareness, confidence and the ability to make informed financial decisions that improve lives and livelihoods. This will enable us to deepen our engagement with underserved communities, providing the awareness, guidance and last-mile support needed to help individuals confidently access and benefit from formal financial services.

Our CEO Amrita Kapoor attended the 28th AGM of Sa-Dhan Association in Kolkata on 19th June. An honour that Swadhaar FinAccess has been a member of Sa-Dhan for over a decade and to be part of the voting process. At Swadhaar FinAccess, financial inclusion goes beyond awareness by providing unserved populations handholding support to access financial services. Customised help and guidance given to women and their families enables informed financial decision making.

For Vinita Hasda, this support became a crucial source of strength after the loss of her father. During a period of financial hardship, a Swadhaar trainer guided her family through the insurance claim process and helped them access ₹2 lakh in insurance benefits, providing much-needed stability during a challenging time.

Her journey reflects a meaningful shift in her financial persona from a “Frustrated Fighter” to becoming an “Optimistic Influencer”, where greater financial awareness, confidence and access are helping her build a more secure future.

Extremely happy to share that just as we started the new financial year FY 26-27, we have achieved a milestone outreach of 12 million plus people trained from underserved communities across as of April 2026, since inception, in financial & digital literacy and inclusion. Out of this, 2.5 million plus vulnerable populations were trained in the period April 2025 to April 2026.
