IndiaSkills WorldSkills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

NSDC, through its WorldSkills India initiative, has been leading the country's participation at WorldSkills International competitions since 2011. The key objectives of WorldSkills India are to:
Promulgate skills in the society and motivate the youth to pursue vocational education. Champion skills and learning for work through local, regional, national and international skills competition and contribute to the society. Invite sponsorships to organize the local, regional, national and international skills competitions and also host international competitions. Establish links and a long-term association with the WSI secretariat along with development of cooperation with the Government of India, state Governments, registered vocational skills training and awarding bodies. Role of NSDC
Establish linkages and contacts with various stakeholders of the industry to promote the association. Provide support and synergy for efforts of WorldSkills India through its Skills Development initiatives. Provide administrative and technical support to the participants and experts for the WorldSkills Competitions.

Building The Future Of Skills Starts With Stronger Partnerships.

At WorldSkills Conference 2026 in Shanghai, India’s Public-Private Partnership approach to skills development brought industry, government and institutions into conversation around building a stronger, more responsive skills ecosystem.

The session explored how industry can contribute through industry-relevant training, Centres of Excellence, apprenticeships, skill-based hiring and the modernisation of Industrial Training Institutes.

The discussion reinforced the value of bringing industry closer to the design and delivery of skills connecting training with workplace needs and strengthening the workforce of tomorrow.

A new milestone in global skill collaboration!

Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council (B&WSSC), India and VTCT Skills, United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen international cooperation in the Beauty & Wellness sector.

The collaboration aims to create a framework for global knowledge exchange, international benchmarking, quality enhancement and capacity building while aligning India’s skill ecosystem with evolving industry requirements and global best practices.

Through this partnership, both organisations will explore opportunities in areas such as professional development, Centres of Excellence, skills development initiatives, research, innovation and exchange of expertise to support a future-ready workforce.
