Message from Chamber President, James Bourke:
As my two-year term as President of Mullingar Chamber comes to an end, I have had time to reflect on what we have achieved and where our organisation is at. I am incredibly proud of what we, as a chamber, have achieved.
During my term, the Chamber continued to advocate for local businesses whilst looking to promote collaboration opportunities throughout Mullingar and the wider municipal district.
When I look back through my calendar from the past two years, it can be summed up with one simple word: Busy! We hosted senior members of cabinet, we collaborated with state bodies and we brought together businesses to celebrate their successes. We also developed various other projects such as Mullingar.ie, Midlands Career Expo, Mullingar Gift Card, Mullingar's Purple Flag bid and much more. I also worked hard around the PR of the chamber to ensure the voice of Mullingar businesses was heard. To measure and quantify where our chamber is at today, our membership has grown to over 250 businesses, making us the largest business representative group in the Midlands.
To the Chamber members, I am sincerely grateful for your support, membership and for being a part of Mullingar Chamber. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Chamber Board for their voluntary time and support. I am also extremely grateful to the Chamber Staff for all they do to keep our organisation active and support our town.
Being the President of a Chamber in a town like Mullingar is a brilliant experience. We have a wonderful town, with a steep history of enterprise. I look forward to seeing it develop for many years to come.
