The North Westmeath Hospice is a voluntary organisation which was set up in 1994 to help provide specialist palliative care services for the people of Westmeath. The North Westmeath Hospice is registered in Ireland as a limited company and has charitable status. The assets of the Hospice are held in trust by the directors who are unpaid and they report to the Hospice Homecare Foundation Committee which is responsible for setting the policy of the Hospice and liaising with the HSE. The fundraising is carried out mainly through the Mullingar branch and the Delvin branch of the Hospice together with many other individuals and support groups throughout the county.
