The Westmeath county final of Scór na bPáistí was held at The Downs GAA Centre on Wednesday, April 15, where talented young people representing their primary schools took to the stage. The adjudicators faced a difficult task in selecting winners from what was a competition of an exceptionally high standard. Maith sibh go léir!

As the sun sets on All-Ireland final day in Castlebar, there's been no joy for the lake county unfortunately. Despite giving excellent performances in all three categories, our acts narrowly missed out on gold cross medals on this occasion. A huge well done to the Mullingar Shamrocks tráth na gceist team, Grace Nic Dhomhnaill in the solo singing and The Downs GAA Club set dancers who were all brilliant today.

Congratulations to our Leinster counterparts Carnew Emmets GAA Club who added yet another Novelty Act All-Ireland title to their well decorated cabinet. Maith sibh go léir!!

We now come to the end of another great Scór season. Thanks to all the clubs who took part and helped with the running of Scór in anyway over the past few months. We look forward to Scór na nÓg returning in November but until then stay tuned to the Scór Iarmhí page for updates. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir!!

It’s All-Ireland Final Day, a chairde! ❤️🤍
All roads lead to the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar today as the Scór Sinsir season reaches its exciting conclusion, with three Westmeath acts competing for national honours.

💚🤍 Mullingar Shamrocks – Table Quiz 💚🤍
Representing Mullingar Shamrocks GAA Club, the highly experienced quiz team of Davy Gavin, Richie McKenna, Conor McKenna, and Tom Hunt will be aiming for All-Ireland glory today. They have been hugely competitive over the past number of years, reaching the All-Ireland stage on several occasions. Let’s hope this is the year they go one step further and bring home gold. Best of luck, lads!

🖤💛 The Downs GAA Club – Solo Singing 🖤💛
In the stage competitions, it’s the black and amber of The Downs GAA Club that will be flying the flag for Westmeath as they look to add to their proud Scór history this evening.

In the Solo Singing competition, Grace Nic Dhomhnaill will be making her All-Ireland debut for The Downs with her beautiful sean-nós singing. Grace is no stranger to the stage, having competed in Scór for almost a decade, and we’ll all be cheering her on today. Go n-éirí an t-ádh leat, Grace!

🖤💛 The Downs – Rince Seit 🖤💛
To close out today’s proceedings, The Downs set dancers will round off the day with their rousing footwork in the Rince Seit competition. This is always a fiercely contested category, and we hope this will be the year The Downs make a breakthrough and become only the second Westmeath club to be inscribed on the roll of honour in this category.

From everyone in Scór Iarmhí, we extend our very best wishes to all of our competitors, who will no doubt represent the Lake County with immense pride today. Go n-éirí an t-ádh libh go léir agus bainigí sult as an lá!
