Tina has had an amazing season, excelling in the high jump throughout both the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons.

A message from Phil 🥹⬇️

“It has been the greatest honour and privilege to represent Ireland over the past 14 consecutive years.

Athletics has given me memories that I will cherish forever, friendships that will last a lifetime, and opportunities I could only have dreamed of as a young girl joining Bandon AC.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have experienced so many special moments throughout my career. From breaking Irish records and winning national titles to becoming a two-time Olympian, competing in Olympic finals and standing on a European podium with my relay teammates, I have been lucky enough to achieve more than I ever imagined.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with and learning from some truly remarkable people. No athlete achieves success alone, and I am deeply thankful to everyone who has been part of my journey. In particular, my family, friends, my coach Shane McCormack and his family have played an invaluable role in my development and success. I am also extremely grateful to Athletics Ireland, Sport Ireland, Olympic Federation of Ireland, and their management teams for their support throughout my career.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stood by me through both the highs and the lows. Your encouragement, belief and support have meant more than words can express.

As I look ahead to the next chapter, I do so with great excitement and gratitude. Athletics will always hold a special place in my heart, having shaped my life and given me so many unforgettable experiences. While my competitive career may be ending, my connection to sport will always remain strong. I look forward to supporting my teammates and watching athletics continue to thrive and grow both in Ireland and beyond. Míle buíochas.”

So proud of our juvenile athletes who competed at the National Children’s Games and U12 Championships in Tullamore today.

With the sun shining and smiles all around, Libby, Ellie, Barry, and Alyssa represented the club with huge heart, determination, and fantastic spirit.

For most, this was their first outing at national level, making their performances an incredible achievement and a real credit to their hard work and commitment.

Days like these are about experience and enjoyment and they certainly delivered on all fronts.

We’ll take the memories, the learning, and the confidence gained, and come back next year with even bigger dreams. 💪💪

Thanks again to everyone involved in getting these athletes to the big arena today 👏👏

This weekend, four of our junior athletes will make the trip to Tullamore to represent EGAC at the National Juvenile Children’s Team Games and U12 Championships on Sunday, 21st June 2026.

Each of the athletes has put an incredible amount of hard work in throughout the season, showing great strength and determination at every stage of the competitions. They truly are an exceptional group of young athletes and fully deserve their place on the big stage.

All the coaches and committee members of EGAC are immensely proud of them. We wish them all the very best of luck this weekend. Embrace the moment, give it everything you’ve got, and above all, enjoy the experience.

What a day at today’s Connacht Outdoors.
It threw everything at us, miserable weather and relentless rain but our little athletes powered on regardless 💪🌧️

All 18 athletes were absolutely outstanding, producing fantastic performances, heat winners, and plenty of PBs along the way.

🔔It really was truly a proud day for EGAC.

A huge well done to Ellie, Libby, Charleigh, Emma, Hugh, Donnacha, Shay, Emmet, Cillian, Adain, Darragh, Grace, Esme, Alyssa, Beth, Meabh, Laura & Barry.
