🎬🔎 Applications Open: Becoming a Drama Researcher for Continuing Drama
The National Talent Academy for Film & TV Drama, in partnership with ALTAF Training, is delighted to announce the return of this popular 8-week/part online course, introducing participants to the creative and collaborative role of the researcher in live-action drama.
Designed to nurture a new generation of skilled drama researchers, the programme will explore how strong research can enrich story, character, world-building and authenticity from early development through to production.
Participants will learn how to:
✨ Research for TV drama development & production
✨ Collaborate with writers, script editors & producers
✨ Find credible sources & conduct effective interviews
✨ Research with authenticity & cultural sensitivity
✨ Turn real-world research into compelling story insights
✨ Present & pitch research clearly
Participants will also gain practical experience working within the dynamics of a story and script department, pairing with participants from the Story Skills Course and acting as their drama researcher to support story development.
👥 Open early-career researchers, writers, editors, filmmakers and crew interested in moving into research or creative script department roles, as well as drama researchers who have not previously received formal training.
