We're delighted to be bringing two great events to this year's OFFline Film Festival!

First up, get 'set ready' at our Set Etiquette Workshop. If you're starting on productions, this one's for you — we will go through crew roles, production paperwork, start forms and timesheets, how a production is organised, set lingo, walkie-talkie know-how, and set culture. Everything you need to walk onto a set with confidence.

Then join The National Talent Academies and Film Offaly for an afternoon of opportunity, insight, inspiration and connections at our panel & network event. The panel offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the forthcoming Irish feature film One Sweet Hour – a “road” movie set on Offaly’s Grand Canal and shot in 2025.

This promises to be a unique insight into feature filmmaking in the Midlands.

Come meet your creative peers and industry stakeholders.

The Galway Film Fair is now accepting applications for short film projects from Ireland for Euro Connection at Festival du court métrage de Clermont-Ferrand🇪🇺

The National Talent Academies Ireland will support projects selected for Euro Connection with a production grant of up to €3000.

Taking place across four days in Cork City, PRIOSMA celebrates LGBTQ+ voices through cinema, collaboration, community and professional development - with a strong focus on creating greater inclusion across the screen industries.

🎬🔎 Applications Open: Becoming a Drama Researcher for Continuing Drama

The National Talent Academy for Film & TV Drama, in partnership with ALTAF Training, is delighted to announce the return of this popular 8-week/part online course, introducing participants to the creative and collaborative role of the researcher in live-action drama.

Designed to nurture a new generation of skilled drama researchers, the programme will explore how strong research can enrich story, character, world-building and authenticity from early development through to production.

Participants will learn how to:

✨ Research for TV drama development & production
✨ Collaborate with writers, script editors & producers
✨ Find credible sources & conduct effective interviews
✨ Research with authenticity & cultural sensitivity
✨ Turn real-world research into compelling story insights
✨ Present & pitch research clearly

Participants will also gain practical experience working within the dynamics of a story and script department, pairing with participants from the Story Skills Course and acting as their drama researcher to support story development.

👥 Open early-career researchers, writers, editors, filmmakers and crew interested in moving into research or creative script department roles, as well as drama researchers who have not previously received formal training.

What a brilliant weekend at Stiúideo Fia’s inaugural Stop Motion Animation Festival in Lettermullen in Connemara! Maith sibh to the whole team, Galway City of Film’s Animation Residents Neel from Mumbai City of Film, Lino from Potsdam City of Film, and Leire from Terrassa City of Film have had a fantastic time immersing themselves in the Gaeltacht, watching stop motion, learning from speaker panels and taking part in interactive workshops & sketch and walks.

The Comhar Gaeilge Animation Residency is part of the annual Galway City of Film programme for 2026, which is managed by Ardán on behalf of Galway City Council Arts Office and Galway County Council Arts Office, with support from Stiúideo Fia as managers of Frame Fest, Fís Éireann/ Screen Ireland and the Department of Culture, Communications & Sport.
