Feel Grateful Friday News:

“Gosh” We’re Grateful!

A huge thank you to Deirdre and all of the wonderful ladies following their Craft Exhibition & Coffee Morning held in April at the Gortalassa Old School House 💛

The group very generously presented Brú Columbanus volunteer and Board Director, Liz Coakley Wakefield, with a cheque for €794, raised through the event.

As if that wasn’t enough, they also donated 15 beautiful handmade baby blankets and hat sets for families staying at Brú with premature or sick babies in hospital. The funds raised will help us continue to grow and expand our facility, while the thoughtful knitwear will bring warmth and comfort to families during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

Thank you all so much for your kindness, generosity, and support - it truly means more than words can say 💛

A huge thank you to Herlihy's Centra stores across Cork for choosing Brú Columbanus as their supported charity for this year's Analog Devices Cork City Marathon!

This Sunday, up to 50 incredible Herlihy's Centra staff, family members and supporters will take to the streets of Cork in support of Brú. Some will be tackling the Half Marathon, while others will be taking on the challenge of the Full Marathon!

Every mile they run will help support families staying at Brú Columbanus while their loved ones are in Cork hospitals.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has dedicated their time to training, fundraising, and taking on the challenge of Cork City Marathon in support of Brú Columbanus. While we are especially thankful to the fantastic team at Herlihy's Centra, we also want to acknowledge every runner who has chosen to support our charity this year. Your commitment, generosity, and effort will make a real difference to the families who rely on Brú Columbanus during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

If you would like to support the Herlihy's Centra team and help them reach their fundraising goal, you can donate through the iDonate page below. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue providing our vital service to families when they need it most.

Feel Grateful Friday - Davis College, Mallow

A huge thank you to everyone at Davis College, Mallow for organising such an incredible World Cup fundraiser in aid of Brú Columbanus, raising an amazing €843 for the families we support!

In particular, we would like to sincerely thank Ms Foley and Mr Horta - without their hard work, none of this would have been possible. A couple of years ago, when their daughter Ella was born prematurely, they stayed with us at Brú Columbanus, and we are so touched that they chose to give back in such a meaningful way.

We were made to feel so welcome throughout the tournament, which took place over two fantastic weeks. Between the glorious weather, the brilliant atmosphere, and the enthusiasm from everyone involved, it truly felt like a victory all round.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Mallow United AFC for allowing the use of their facilities to host the tournament.

Thank you again to everyone who took part, supported, donated, volunteered, and cheered from the sidelines. Your support will make a real difference to families staying at Brú Columbanus during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

What a special night for the Scrubs Choir as we celebrated their 10 Year Anniversary Concert in the beautiful Augustinian Church on Saturday evening.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, supported, performed, volunteered, organised, sponsored, or helped behind the scenes to make the night such a success. From the incredible choirs and musicians, to those welcoming guests at the door, selling tickets, setting up, tidying away, and everything in between!

We were delighted to see a full house and such a wonderful atmosphere throughout the evening. Your support means so much, not only to the choir, but also to Brú Columbanus and the families we support.

We also managed to capture some lovely moments from the night, which you can view and download here:

Thank you Alyssa & Eva Long…

We want to say a huge thank you to Alyssa and Eva, who have raised an astonishing €31,521 for Brú Columbanus through their recent fundraiser and half marathon challenge.

After their family experienced an incredibly difficult and traumatic time earlier this year, Alyssa and Eva chose to turn that experience into something truly positive - fundraising so that other families facing medical crises can continue to have a “home from home” close to their loved ones in hospital.

During one of the hardest periods of their lives, Brú Columbanus became a place of comfort, support and closeness while their Dad received care in Cork University Hospital. Inspired by his determination and strength, the girls took on a huge running challenge in his honour - and the support they received has been nothing short of phenomenal.

€31,521 is an extraordinary amount that will make a real and lasting difference to families staying at Brú Columbanus, and even help us increase our capacity.
To Alyssa and Eva, thank you for your kindness and determination. We are so grateful for your support, and we continue to wish your dad every strength in his recovery journey.
