A very moving tribute from the Ringfinnan Garden of Remembrance, Kinsale, a living memorial to the firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11 while trying to save others.
The garden contains 343 trees dedicated to the fallen members of the New York City Fire Department, along with a tree in memory of FDNY Chaplain Father Mychal Judge.

The song “The Garden”, written and composed by Dave McGilton, beautifully captures the spirit of remembrance, courage and sacrifice.

We are also very proud to see some familiar faces from our ONE Cork City Branch appearing in the video.

4 Ball Mixed Scramble €200 per team

Competition open to golfers with an official Golf Ireland handicap.

Tonight, we remembered our dear friend and fellow veteran Joe Ryan at his Anniversary Mass at the garrisson church Collins Bks
Joe was a familiar and much loved presence at the Veterans Support Centre, where he came Monday to Friday and greatly enjoyed the friendship, camaraderie and company of his fellow veterans.
Joe is fondly remembered by all at ONE and by those who had the pleasure of sharing his company at the centre. His absence is still felt, but the memories and friendships he left behind remain.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
We will remember him.

Fundraising is the heartbeat of every nonprofit Charity

The “hard” part is knowing;
who to ask? The Military Community
when to ask? Now, we need to support our Homeless Veterans
what to ask for? Heartfelt support for our comrades.
how much money to ask for? €1.25 weekly equates to €5 monthly

The ability to complete the above comes with time, data, and experience. The only way to “know how” to fundraise is, to do it.

Within the Irish military community there are 13,500 Defence Force veterans on pension. This is made up of 3 categories, Officers, Other Ranks and Disability. Just imagine if everyone donated €5 from their pensions monthly, ONE would have Phase 2 of our Veteran Home Expansion plan almost paid for in 4 years….13,500 X €5 X 48 = €3,240,000, yeah, I am just imagining but hopeful for the Military community’s support.

When we served, camaraderie and friendship was paramount to everything we done, (Buddy Buddy system) be it operational, ceremonial, sporting and especially socially. We were never more together than when serving overseas.

We need to come together again and help our Homeless comrades and those accessing our professional services, especially, Mental Health.

I am requesting all Defence Force Pensioners make this monthly donation from pension to help ONE provide the new accommodation soonest.
I am requesting those who are donating €2 to allow me increase their donations to €5 by simply sending your pension number (it starts with 16 Disability, 41 Officers & 42 Other Ranks) and
your name to me at any one of the below; I’ll do the rest

Yesterday our members were delighted to enjoy a day out on the Blackwater Cruises which is operated daily by Tony Gallagher. Leaving from youghal the ferry brings its crew to sample the hidden delights of Cork's River Blackwater. Stopping off for a bite to eat at vineerstown and taking in the beautiful sites that surround. A very enjoyable day had by all

A bit about the tour,

The tour leaves from the pontoon in Youghal and travels North up the River Blackwater, past Rhincrew and towards the old bridge and the remains of Templemichael Castle. Passing Molana Abbey on the left, entering a tranquil, unspoilt area of natural beauty, as yet untouched by urban development.

We are truly grateful for opportunities like these that help us connect with our local community in so many meaningful ways. Thank you for spending part of your day with us we look forward to welcoming you back again soon. The singing and guitar playing were wonderful.
