House Manager Role Brú Ui Choileáin, Cork City

Job Description

Description of Role:

ONE's House Manager in Cork will be central in the delivery of ONE's professional support service to homeless veterans.
The House Manager for Brú Ui Choilean, 92 Ballyhooly Road, is the local project manager in their respective Local Authority Area and carries out the following role:

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

* Manage Brú Uí Choileáin, Cork City which is a 6-Bedroom Facility for homeless veterans of the Irish Defence Forces
* Leadership and Management of Brú Uí Choileáin:
* Ensure all capability delivered including:
* Income & Expenditure associated with Brú Uí Choileáin
* Catering standards
* Maintain standards of cleanliness
* Support Homeless Veterans of the Defence Forces in the Cork region by:
* Being the main point of contact with local authority housing section and responsible for processing homeless veterans into the home
* Helping residents to navigate their life by providing:
* Support & advice to residents
* Mentor for residents
* Assisting with health care entitlement and needs and helping with social welfare entitlements
* Linking residents with the Veteran Support Officer in HSE South-West Region who can provide counselling and referral
* Linking residents to the local Branch of ONE and Veteran Support Centre which will help to minimise social exclusion
* Manages the transition of residents to independent living in Local Authority Housing
* Liaise with ONE’s House Manager in Brú na Farraige, Cobh

Our two lovely veterans, Noel and Harry, collecting for ONE yesterday.
While giving their time to help and support other veterans, they are also supporting each other a beautiful example of the friendship, comradeship and sense of belonging that ONE is all about.
Sometimes it’s not just about what goes into the collection bucket; it’s about being there for one another, sharing a chat, a laugh and knowing that you are never alone.
