Growing food and flowers is good for mental health and we have been working with a fantastic group from the Wesham Rehab unit to support them with developing their own garden area.
This morning we brought a donation of some veg ad flower plants and we spent the morning weeding and planting.

The polytunnel in June - .The first strawberries are starting to appear (and they taste delicious 😋) , the spuds are growing well and the herb bed is looking colourful.
I found a couple of bumblebees sleeping in a spring onion that I had allowed to flower 🐝 🐝

Too hot in the polytunnel this morning so we escaped to the woods with our 'Green Shoots' group to toast marshmallows, sketch leaves and connect with nature.

What a beautiful day for the NHS wellbeing day at the farm 🌿☀️

We loved welcoming such an incredible group of nurses and team members for a chance to step away, reset and recharge. From a peaceful guided walk through the wetlands and woodlands, to hands-on time in the polytunnel, and plenty of fun (and stretches!) in Jake’s mobility session at Thrive at the Farm — it was a day full of fresh air, sunshine and smiles.

A perfect reminder of how powerful it is to pause, breathe and reconnect with nature 💚

It is traditional to sow your potatoes on Good Friday but Thursday was the closest we could get. We also potted on some tomatoes and enjoyed the warmth of the polytunnel.

As a change from the usual gardening activities (and an excuse to get out in the sunshine) today our NHS volunteers made bird feeders which we hung in the woods. We did a bit of bird watching and listening, enjoying the chance to pause and relax.
We watched buzzards riding the thermals, interrupted a huge heron and saw hares chasing one another.
