BFB is a non-profit, charitable organisation which works to alleviate food insecurity and poverty. BFB Hive cafe, open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 2:30pm.

All welcome. Community Way, off Shrewsbury Road, Worksop, S80 2TU. We are local independent food bank, which is able to support the local community, because it is supported in return. It provides emergency support to those who have received an approved referral from a recognised, front line professional organisation that is able to support or signpost clients to other support agencies to help them resolve their crisis. We do not receive any formal funding, rely completely on grant applications, donations from organisations, churches, the general public and fundraising to be able to provide support to the local people of Worksop, Retford and surrounding villages

One of the biggest misconceptions about food banks in general is that they are reserved ONLY for those with chaotic lifestyles. This is untrue. Many of the clients using the service are just ordinary people who have hit hard times. There is no specific ‘profile’ of how a person looks or where they live, who is likely to visit a food bank for support. However, through the regular evaluation of our data, we know that many families in Bassetlaw and surrounding areas are struggling to make ends meet.

👏 A big thank you to Samworth Brothers for the continued support! 👏

Samworth Brothers have been a partner to BFB for over two years and have helped in so many ways, such as...

🥪 Weekly sandwich donations - used for emergency food parcels and buffets for Hive Cafe events.
🏰 Sponsorship of entertainment our Family Fun Day - this year we had a bouncy castle and steel pan performance.
🎅 Sponsorship of Christmas dinners - so that families experiencing food insecurity have all they need to have a tasty Christmas dinner.

Thank you Samworth Brothers!

🎄 It's the 1st November, so we're giving ourselves permission to talk about it . . . Christmas! 🎄

We've made this little guide about the best way to support BFB this Christmas:
⛄️ Keep an eye on our shortages lists for the essentials
🎅 Make your donations of Christmas food early in December
🌟 Pre-arrange collections of donations in plenty of time
🎁 For toy donations join From The Heart Charity 's Christmas present appeal

Thank you for your support!
