Friends of Akitas Trust - UK We're here for Akitas! Welcome to the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) page. That’s not to say that we will only help ‘Poundies’. The FOA Team

We are Akita enthusiasts, who felt that we could do more to help Akitas in need. Every week numbers of Akitas end up in council pounds with only seven days to find a home before destruction. We aim to get as many of these Akitas as possible into ’safe’ kennels or foster homes and ultimately into new forever homes. Our objective is to help, rescue where necessary, rehabilitate and rehome any Akita which needs it, through assessing both dog and potential owners, to ensure a well-matched and long lasting, happy relationship. This would not be possible without the help of our dedicated team of volunteers – from going into dismal pounds to carrying out initial assessments to ensuring support for adopters for the rest of their Akita’s life. Their support is invaluable and without it, FOA simply would not exist. For donations our details are [email protected] or Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) sort code: 40-52-40 and account number: 00023009

We also have a Facebook group which can be found here https://www.facebook.com/groups/104511252984624/?ref=ts&fref=ts Please feel free to browse both and join in – your friendship could mean a great deal to this great breed.

I DID IT!!! 🪂🐾

I jumped out of a plane for our Kennel Kids!

As most of you know, I did the sponsored skydive for The Friends of Akita's Trust to raise much-needed funds for the Akitas in our kennels waiting for their forever homes.

Honestly, sitting on the edge of that plane at Black Knights Skydiving Centre I was thinking of our Kennel Kids!

Thank you SO much to everyone who has sponsored me so far. You're amazing.

If you can spare even £2 to help our dogs, I would be so grateful. I'm so close to my target.

👉 GoFundMe link is in the FIRST COMMENT below 👇 (Facebook doesn't like links in posts)

If you can’t donate, a share is just as amazing and helps us reach more Akita lovers. 💜

Thank you!
