Did you know the first Friday of September is international food bank day? A way to promote local food banks and volunteering with them.

We are not a food bank but Windsor Foodshare is our sister project and also part of Alma Beacon. Windsor foodshare provide food to families and individuals referred to them each week helping to ensure no one goes hungry.

Whilst Windsor Street Angels aren't a food bank we always have high calorie items available for the rough sleepers. Chocolate bars, pot noodles and similar snacks help keep their energy up. Oh and plenty of lollipops for everyone too 🍭🍬🍡

While the rain has been welcome I think we can all agree it's been pretty miserable outside today. Tonight our hub doors are open and we are sure we will have plenty of guests wanting a place of shelter, a place to be dry, have a warm drink and a snack, charge their phone.

We welcome about ten rough sleepers to our hub on a Saturday night from 22.30 - 3am. The hub is in the Baptist Church on Victoria Street and it is open for anyone who needs a place of safety. That might be whilst you wait for your taxi or whilst your wait for your friends.

It's a place where emergency workers come for a sit down break when they are lucky enough to get one.

Our hubs most popular item is squash and pot noodles although with the weather turning we are anticipating lots of hot chocolates tonight too.

Snacks and drinks is a big part of what we do. Taking the time to make a rough sleeper their drink or choice and a snack wherever they are on the streets or at our hub means the world to them. July we did less hot items than normal but with the rain tonight we are anticipating a busy weekend for hot drinks and snacks. Our team will be out on patrol tonight and our big rucksack will have all we need to make a nice comforting cuppa and a snack too.

Our wishlist is up to date as always with what we need from squash and hot chocolate to the ever popular pot noodles.

Our hub is open tonight 22.30 - 3am with Windsor Street Angels to welcome anyone who needs a safe space to be. Our Angels are also out across the town centre, checking in on rough sleepers and those who have come into town to enjoy a night out.

July was a busy month for our Street Angels with over 500 contacts. 81 coffees made, 78 snacks provided and 88 occasions that we engaged with rough sleepers. We also provided emergency first aid on four occasions and made 6 referrals to emergency services or other organisations.

Our team are out tonight too and we are sure coffee and water will be a popular request in this heat!

Not all heroes wear capes. Our Windsor Street Angels heroes wear a high Viz jacket and help keep Windsor safe at night.

We are so thrilled to have been voted community heroes and if you are looking for a volunteering option we would love you to join us.

It's true our volunteers are out at night time but they'd all tell you how rewarding it is to provide help while others sleep. We have both hub and patrol roles and you can come out as an observer on a shift to see what it's like. Come and join us and make a real difference

It's going to be hot again this week. 🔥🥵🌡️ Unsurprisingly we are giving out a lot of water, squash, pants, socks and wipes in this warmer weather! You might be surprised that pot noodles soups and coffees remain super popular in the heat along with fresh shoes, crisps, snacks and of course lots of smiles and comfort too.

We update our wish list weekly with what we need when we need it and we really do appreciate every item we receive. 🙏

Payday weekend often means town is busier and our team can find them helping even more people than normal. Tonight our hub is open on Victoria Street, providing a safe space for all at the Baptist Church until 3am and our team are in the town centre too, helping anyone who needs it.
