Windsor Street Angels

Windsor Street Angels Street Angels have a positive impact on crime and antisocial behaviour in town centres by providing a calming presence on the streets late at night.

The Street Angels patrol the streets and assist people who become vulnerable in any way while enjoying an evening out. Street angels listen, care, offer practical help and can refer people to specialist agencies.

Our hub doors are open on Victoria Street right now at the Baptist Church until 3am. Providing a safe space for anyone who needs it. That might be a sofa, snack and chat or a quiet corner for a rough sleepers or a phone charge and safe spot to wait for an Uber for a clubber.

Our team are also just setting off across the town centre where they will check in on the rough sleepers and drop off snacks and wipes before heading to the clubs to keep an eye out for any predatory behaviour and anyone needing our help.

Our angels give up their nights to ensure others have a safe night and we can't thank them enough for that

Windsor Street Angels, Windsor Homeless Project and Windsor Foodshare together make up the three projects within Alma Beacon. A charity dedicated to helping those most vulnerable across Windsor.

There was a post on one of the local FB groups earlier about getting emergency support for a rough sleeper. The commenting has been switched off but we wanted to provide the details in case anyone else needed them.

If there is an emergency situation or an emergency concern for someone then it is 999

If it is not an emergency but you are concerned for welfare you can call 101 and request a welfare check. The local PCSOs will then check on the person.

If you want to alert local organisations to a rough sleeper then you can use Street Link this will work anywhere in the UK and is a great tool as it alerts all local organisations to the location of someone and their need for support. https://thestreetlink.org.uk/

The poster mentioned they had bought the rough sleeper water and wet wipes. Thank you so much! In this heat those are really essential items and they're on our wishlist for that reason too as it is so tough to stay hydrated when outside in this heat.

This is our wishlist link and we keep it updated all year round https://www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/3RZPEDBX1WR8X?ref_=wl_share

Windsor Homeless Project provides support to rough sleepers in the day time at Alma Beacon on Alma Road, Windsor Street Angels provides support on a Friday and Saturday night both on the streets and on a Saturday within our safety hub at The Baptist Church on Victoria Street. Together with Windsor Foodshare these three projects are Alma Beacon which supports the vulnerable in Windsor.

We hope this helps anyone else who needs to signpost or get help to a rough sleeper.

With the hot weather our kit needs change too. Chocolate remains as a constant but water and squash are also key essentials to help keep rough sleepers hydrated. Our Amazon wishlist helps us share the key items we need and make it simple for you to choose an item you want and send it directly to us. Our list reflects our summer needs now plus some extras like first aid kit top ups as our ones have expired. Here's a photo of an order that arrived yesterday which we are so so thankful for, chocolate, mini cheddars, water and wipes! If you are feeling hot and want to give the gift of hydration to someone who doesn't have a tap at their disposal then please do check out our list.

We have had some amazing donations of sweet treats and sandwiches from Greggs and Pret tonight so our hub guests will be enjoying those as well as enjoying a place of safety. Our patrol teams will take some with them to and deliver to those rough sleepers they see on the streets before helping the clubbers on a night out.

Our angels help anyone who may need it across the town centre.
